Top Jamb Mounting
Mounted on the Push Side of the Door. The top jamb mounting is a type of door closer installation where the closer is mounted on the top of the door frame, rather than on the door face.
Parallel Mounting
Mounted on the Push Side of the Door. the parallel arm mounting is a type of installation that is used when the door closer is mounted on the face of the door and is used with the parallel arm mounting bracket.

Works awesome on my entry door into the house from the garage. It was always getting slammed shut by the wind or person shutting it. Now, no more slamming. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because there isn't an adjustment for opening tension. It's hard to open for my kids and my mom.

If you mount it according to their instructions the opening pressure is way to high. I'm pretty sure it exceeds maximum opening pressures according to OSHA. I had to mount mine as close to the hinge as possible to reduce the pressure required to open the door. The actuator is about 3 inches from the hinge side of the door and still has to much opening resistance but its acceptable now. The other functions/adjustments are not as effective when its relocated like this but they still work fairly well.All in all, they just did not engineer this thing properly for residential use. You could take it apart and adjust the spring tension inside but I doubt you'd be able to get it to work like it should; so I settled for the easy fix, move it closer to the hinges giving you more leverage to open the door.

Product works great and seems to be good quality. The only reason the product did not get 5 stars is because the instructions were mediocre at best. I spent considerably more time looking at the instructions that should have been necessary.

this was a life saver to keep a pet from going into certain rooms. it started to squeak after a month but i sprayed with wd40 and it’s been great ever since. i purchased more for other rooms in my home.

I wouldn't buy this closer again. The instructions were terrible. The bracket measurements were wrong. Just go with the picture for the door arm. There is no adjustment for the opening force and it is too strong for a child to open.

I got this commercial door closer for our indoor doors. It was easy to install and worked well to close the door softly with easy to adjust forces. This door is best for indoor use and works with a number of different doors. It even comes with different screws for different door types such as wood and metal doors. Overall, I am happy with the installation process and quality of this commercial door closer, but it’s going to take time to realize whether this door closer is reliable and as robust as it looks.
