This heater worked perfectly! I have a moderate size tank and it recovered the tank to the desired temperature quickly without going over the max value. Works well! It was very easy to install and has not had any issues in performance.

Keeps water at temp. (Doesn’t actually glow) It did alarm in the middle of the night do to low water. Which is an awesome feature, especially since low water destroys most heaters. Better than the $$$$ ones I have used in the past.

This heater is pretty nice and has lots of features for the safety of the pets and yourself. There's auto-shut off in the case of overheating or becoming exposed. There are some other features of that nature, including tubes that are "double-resistant" to "exploding". My guess is that they used double as marketing language to refer to the double tubes. There are two tubes for heating even though this is a 100W heater, which isn't even listed in the manual, and each heater is protected by it's own sandwich of plastic with an open gap between them. I've never seen this design before, not that I'm an expert, but it does make it a bit bulkier than other heaters. Small enough pets can actually come into contact with the tubes via the sides and end.I really like the fact that the controller is external to the heater, and that it displays both the set and current water temperatures. I don't like the fact that there's only one button to adjust temperature and mode. You have to hold down the button for 3 seconds until the top (set) temperature flashes, and then click the button repeatedly until you get to the temperature you want to set. This is cumbersome because it changes by .5 degrees and so it'll take several seconds to go from the default of 78 degrees F to the desired set temp. I don't see why they couldn't have added another button so that one button could be for temps and up and the other for modes and down, for example. It has the rare ability to show the temp up to .1 F.To change the mode, you have to hold down the button for 6 seconds until the mode light flashes, after which you can select one of the 3 modes.I filled a 2.5 gallon bucket with tap water. The water started at 68 F and increased by .1 F every 2-4 seconds. There are two suction cups included and you'll have to attach them to the special posts on the back of the plastic protector. Fortunately, unlike other designs, these actually fit over the post rather than sliding into a retaining hole, making them (hopefully) less likely to stick to the glass and pull off when you try to take it out. There is also a cord wrap that can be used to hold together multiple cords, and a double-adhesive pad if you want to connect the controller to a nearby surface (ideally above the water level).I did test the "out of water" function, which seems to be triggered by a current detector at the cord end of the plastic housing since it immediately shut off when I exposed even a small amount. That is really nice!I recommend this product.

It heats up very quickly and can maintain a constant temperature even with a stream pump.Goldfish is suitable for temperatures between 68-82 degrees Fahrenheit, and the default setting is 78 degrees, which perfectly suits my needs. The temperature in VA has cooled down recently, and I obviously feel that my goldfish has not been affected at all. It is highly recommended.

With a suitable temperature for my aquarium, the equipment works excellently well and keeps the temperature of my aquarium stable.

I just moved to northeast Ohio, lake effect snow area, after living in Texas. I'm also restarting in the aquarium hobby. I honestly usually do nano aquariums-- I have a 2.5g, 5g, 10g, and just added a 20g. my aquarium heaters were working fine at manufacturer recommeded levels until the first storm of the season hit and it was INTENSE. 5 feet of snow in November, and the heaters couldn't keep up. this one looked good and upgrading the 20 long to this one meant I could "step up" each smaller aquarium with the hand-me-down of the size above. the second storm was less snow, but we dipped well into the negatives Fahrenheit. the house heating couldn't even keep up-- and since we're upstairs from a business with all the utilities tied together, the heat all comes from one industrial sized setup. everything kept up.with this heater specifically? I love that the controller shows both the temp it's set to and the temp it's currently at. I always have a thermometer to double check the heater and the water flow both, and it stays close enough to assure me that the heater's steady and accurate. it's bulky, but I appreciate the guard. my head's on a swivel for how things like this is structured because I keep bettas in almost all my aquariums, and they love to try to self exit by wedging themselves in the smallest spaces, but there haven't been any issues with bettacide via heater in it at least (hopefully the heat is also a deterrant). since installation it's warmed up enough that at one point, through heater setting misstep, it was in the 80s F in our loft apartment and it is sensitive enough that it held steady even in a smaller body of water than recommended it didn't get too warm. if I need to move the heaters again in summer, if it has anything to do with this one I'll try to come back and note it, but I'm confident in its performance thus far.

This heater works good. It is MASSIVE though for a 100w. Temp control works great. It seems durable. It’s a little weird that it says it cannot be placed sideways.
