The #1 thing to realize about this is that in this case, 8" really means 12". So, if you pulled your stem out and you measured it and it measures about 12", you want the 8" replacement. Thank you to others on Amazon who noted this so that I was able to purchase the right thing the first time. This was a job for the hive brain of Amazon. I took my old stem to the friendly hardware store where they told me I needed to replace the entire faucet (which would have involved holes in walls and welding as I do not seem to have the easy set up described in some online tutorials). So, I turned to the combo of search engine and amazon to find the faucet stem and found this. Not quite an exact replacement for the old one with the ceramic cartridge (of note--you don't really want the ceramic one), but it works, it fits--didn't even need to retrofit the new cartridge onto the old stem as some people have mentioned. Thank you all for the significant time and money saved by not having to tear apart my house.

This is good product. the company need to post more details on how it's being measured so the consumer can be able to get the right item. i was confused on how to measure the stem that i have. Thank you.I gave the company 5 stars hoping they will add more details for others to benefit.

This item worked to fix my spigot, but it's priced too high for what it is. This shouldn't be more than $10.00 - $12.95. Ideally, if I could have found the portion of the part that had clogged up, I would have bought it instead of the entire stem. Work on that price and quit gouging Americans when inflation is already high! Three stars because of price.

Great customer service and item arrived quickly exactly as described. Make sure you measure your current Silcock valve to ensure a proper fit.

I could not find this replacement part in local plumbing supply stores. Buying it her saved me significant money that I would have had to pay a plumber to replace the existing faucet.

A good replacement for the old "ceramic" version that's no longer available. Both metal washers sandwiching the rubber bushing for new stem are not the same diameter - Had to remove the bushing and washers, grind the edges of the larger washer a bit, then it all fit back into the body far enough so the end fitting would screw back onto the body end to close it up (note second half of closure closest to handle not used). Otherwise, fine. Hope this helps.

There was no diagram for confirming the direction or type of gaskets and I could not make it seal up, in my existing hose bib. It seemed to be the right product and the price is OK, but it was not an exact fit and I could not use it.
