These replace the plastic stems when I added replacement handles. The metal piece in the stem allows a secure and firm connection with the set screw in the handle.

Be careful as the extensions are specific to hot, cold and switching valve (tub to shower)…there doesn’t seem to be a way to specify and it notes the extension is for 3 knob/handle systems when in fact it is for 2 handle systems…just so happens my switching extension was the one that was broken so this wasn’t real helpful. Also worth noting that the tab on the bottom is not as tall and does not have the radiuses as the O.E.M. Unit does. Images are taken with the internal flat oriented the same in all 3 extensions with the existing being to the far right…

had to machine off half of the plastic nub on the valve end to make handles line up horizontalwhen valve is off, but i have an older delta model with small nubs.on the up side the handles feel WAAAY firmer and positive in their action.plastic is soft and easy to cut with file/knife

Item is short like any basic Ext. , the shipping is way overpriced hard pass...should return it but for what
