I learned not to push to hard cutting a bagel. It will swish them. Also learned to have the bagel chilled like kept in the refrigerator. Be careful cleaning the blade because of limited access.

I am starting to make my own bagels at home and it has been a blast, a bagel slicer I thought would make my home baked goods easier to slice. It does do the job however I cannot tell if my slicer came used or it just has random scratches/smudge lines from I do not know what but that has been a little off putting. The blade seems in tact which is good and the shield is a nice touch, however it makes cleaning the blade such a pain and not very accessible to clean. I do wish the bottom stand would have suction cups or be heavier so when you are putting a little weight on top to push the blade down, the whole thing wont slip out from underneath you. Over all this is a good starter for me, but I want to find something more secure, stable, and cleaner.

This bagel slicer is very versatile as i used it to slice some buns too.Its blade is very sharp while doing the cuttings without leaving any crumbs.My bagels and buns are sliced perfectly in halves and the process is fast just by putting the breads into the slot and with one push,they are cut.A very good and useful bagel slicer.
