We've been using these for our pigs for 2 years now and they seem to work OK. When we first installed them, one leaked because the internal gasket didn't seem to make a good seal. After pushing the center plunger in and out a few times, I was able to reset the gasket and it held fine. During the second summer of using them, one of them leaked consistently, but it was usually because of mud and debris that seemed to get stuck In it. They are easy to thread into the sidewall of 3" SCH40 PVC pipe with some teflon tape and then I siliconed around them just in case. The pigs learned how to use them pretty quickly after putting a little peanut butter on them. The pigs bite and chew them pretty hard and I haven't had one break yet. The edges are a bit sharp, but they can be filed down. Overall, I would recommend them against other similar drinker nipples, but all nipples might get gummed up with mud and then leak, like I've experienced.

I think perhaps most of these style of valves leak. These did. I tightened everything down but they just leaked. I think perhaps it's a good way to keep pigs hydrated in the summer but in the winter I had intended to use these on a 15 gallon container with a water heater to keep open access water for the pigs. It was a colder than average winter. But the leaking caused a pile of ice to form beneath and also drained the container faster which caused them to run out of water. And as you can imagine when the hoses are frozen most hours of the day it's not convenient to constantly refil the container. We butchered as the weather got hot and so these may have worked better during the hotter months but we didn't experience that.

I was pretty excited to get these to make a pig waters using these and a 55-gallon food grade drum. These little things work amazing. My pigs haven’t figured it out quite yet, but i still love them. Awesome purchase.

I've always used pig nipples that I've bought at the feed store. They had a wire mesh screen that was always getting clogged and they would only dribble water. Couldn't find any locally this spring so I ordered these and wow I couldn't believe the difference in flow. Much happier knowing they are always getting enough water now. I've been using them for about a month and neither of them have gotten plugged up yet.

Got these to water my hogs. I thought they were a bit short. But 5hey seem to work just fine. Not one issue in over a month with 2 hogs using it
