I ordered this for my Mamas Labrador puppy. He's not even six months old and he does have a bigger more boxy head. I chose the large based on the size chart. When it arrived, we had to let it out all the way and it fits snug. I'm sure we are going to have another one very soon. If I were going to do this again, I would order an extra large instead. So if your dog is on the bigger size, refer to the chart and order the next size up. If she didn't need it right away, I would have suggested sending it back to get a bigger size.

EDIT:So now that I have had it for 2 months, I am updating my review. So, it was great the first maybe 5 times I used it. After that we spent more than half the walk with him trying to get it off his face. We have been on maybe 40 total walks and today, he pulled a little harder than usual and just ripped it in half. Not so happy with it anymore.OLD POSTI can not rave about this harness enough! I have a 90 lb 2 year old lab/shepherd mix that I absolutely could not control while walking. He is stronger than me and comes up past my hips. He had no problem pulling me about no matter how hard I tried to control him. I was literally at my wits end and feeling like the absolute worst pet owner. After walking him, I usually couldn't feel my arms and had like no strength left.Then my coworker recommended this product and holy sh*t is this a game changer. After only a couple minutes of trying to get it off and being a little brat, he finally got distracted with the walking and it was amazing. I also bought a leash that had the hand loops on both ends so I can hold the handle close to his head. He walked at my heels almost the entire time, with a few times of me giving him more room to walk around. He walked right past many other dogs that he clearly wanted to play with and when he did try to go, he wouldn't get far. And my arms didn't hurt at all after the walk. I'd say 98% of our walk was smooth as could be and 2% was him trying to get it off his face. He really doesn't like anything touching his face, so I'm doubtful that it was hurting him, I just think he doesn't like the new feeling.Anyways, I literally can't recommend this enough, especially if you have a very large dog that is difficult to walk.

This is the best head collar I've found! My service dog is half Belgian Malinois and half Australian Shepard. You can imagine the power behind that, and the instinct to run after prey. This is perfect for keeping him on a 30 ft lead to run and play, as hitting the end of the lead doesn't damage his throat.It also allows me more control on a short leash, which doesn't aggravate my shoulder injury.The security strap is really a lifesaver. It's adjustable, but my dog can get out of it, and it doesn't stay adjusted when I tightened it. It's wider than my previous one from a different manufacturer, and my dog really hates this one because it bothers his whiskers when I put it on and take it off. Sure it works, but my previous one works better and bothers him less, and he has a harder time getting it off. Suggest buying a different brand. They have different sizes, so maybe it will work better for your dog.

When I tightened the collar around my dog, it would loosen up in no time at all. It wouldn't stay in place at all. I even measured to get the right size. The material was super slick. My dog got out of this collar every time we used it. I thought at first it was user error but I don't feel like that now.

This gentle leader is THE BEST. Our 80lb lab puppy is a biggggg puller and this has made walking him so much easier for my family. He does try to get it off if we get ready for a walk and linger any, but once we are going, he's totally fine with it and it made leash training go much smoother. If your dog pulls, you have to try this!

This collar is a gamechanger (and it's beautiful). One of my dogs pulls on the leash and is really strong, and it gets dangerous for me being jerked like that. I've tried many different leashes and collars but it gets exhausting. This collar gives me complete control!!! No dangerous pulling! But keep in mind that, at first, my dog did wiggle her head frantically a few times to try to get out of the collar, especially when she attempted to pull....but stick with it and be patient!!! The wiggling stops and the dog will get the hang of it. My dog literally learned not to pull during the first 2 walks. Walking her is so much easier! So dont be discouraged if your dog wiggles and seems uncomfortable at first.... they'll get the hang of it. Just keep the leash loose, and when your tries to pull you'll see the dog immediate jerk back, stop and stay close to you so the leash loosens. It's a really clever tool! I really think that after several months of consistency with this head collar, my dog will be so used to walking nicely beside me that I might be able to switch to a regular leash. I have high hopes!

I've had several head collars and for the price, this is the best I've had yet. The collar is made of sturdy nylon strapping with sturdy connections. I don't think you will find a better head collar for any amount. I've had head collars that cost over double the price of this one and wasn't any better quality if as good. The fit is perfect for my dog. I we dubious about ordering an XXL size for my dog but as stated the fit is perfect. Trust the size chart and don't compare to other manufacturers.

This has changed the way my dog and I can walk together.From intense pulling to me being able to hold the leash with my pinky and having slack.The only downside is that it's too large, but that is 100% on me.I ordered too large of a size because I didn't measure.
