I bought this not for reviews but only because it seemed as easy to use as others but was less costly. The battery was dead in my Ram Truck, so I ran which tests I could. The Battery is an (absorbed glass-mat (AGM) battery). I charged it with a standard battery son the slow charge. he battery struggled to start the truck so I used the "Start Engine feature". The truck started right up. My alternator read normal and the truck started three or four days in a row. I parked it and left it sit for about a week. Dead as a doornail again. I used the new tester to find the battery was at 456% and the amps were at 8. On with the slow charger. Everything reading good again., Then I followed the instructions and did a load test, which was everything electrical running for 3 minutes. Turned the truck off, used the tester and it said "go the the store and buy a new battery dummy. So off to the store I went after using the engine start on the battery and sure enough they ran their tests and said "buy a new battery dummy and so I did. I guess this works. I tried it a couple times and got the same reading. I also tested the battery on my car and it read every thing good, don't got running off to the store wasting you money on a new battery dummy it is in good condition. Thank you BT300 Battery Tester!

It has a long list of batteries I didn’t know anything about it’s complicated I just tested on first one showing and it worked fine

In order to do an alternator test you have to be in the veichal reving it up the cables are only 2ft long how do they expect that to work.

As a professional automotive technician I have access to higher end diagnostic equipment but always appreciate cheaper options to have at home or as a back up. It is hard to find a diagnostic tool that is both easy to use and accurate. This unit is both.To put this to the test, I tested multiple batteries and vehicles and I'm happy to say the results were consistent with my high end Midtronics tester that I was using to verify results. The menu options to input data are easy to understand and it uses full wording instead of abbreviations. The screen is very clear with good graphics. One thing that stood out on this unit was the amount of tests that can be done such as battery, starting and charging. Some more expensive testers don't have those options. The tool even has a section that shows common battery sizes and their CCA rating. All tests are easy to perform by following the on screen prompts.With all that said I am rating this tester at 5 stars. It is very accurate, easy to use and the price tag (under $20) is an extreme value.
