Like all aftermarket dipsticks / holders this item took some modifications to work properly. I have fitted several of these BBC dipsticks/holders. On all of them I had to shorten the tube 5/16", tweet the engine strap from tube to fit properly in oil pan. The made in Taiwan stamped on the dipstick doesn't look properly on a USA made vehicle. The chrome dipstick and holding tube looks nice once installed. All BBC engines take five quarts of oil including the new oil filter. After draining your big block Chevy's oil and replacing the oil filter add five quarts of oil. Then make sure you fit the dipstick tube properly to read full on the dipstick. The manufacturers five quarts of oil rule is found in your owners manual.
