Step 1 - Slip washer onto thermometer's NPT connection.
Step 2 - Place the stem into a pre-drilled hole (3/8’’) in the mounting surface.

Size is perfect for the bbq pit. The bright colors are nice so I can read the temp from the window during a long cook. Accurate. Sturdy. Easy to read.

Seems like a good thermometer but it is much smaller than needed to mount in the factory PitBoss hole. Easiest solution is buy a proper fit at Academy for around $10.This one would be fine for a home build pit.

Was surprised that my smoker didn’t have a built in thermometer- but this was super easy to install so all good.

I bought these for an ugly drum smoker. My first run I tested it with my oven thermometer and my digital. Seems accurate to a 5° F difference. My next uds build I'll very likely buy these again.

I installed 2 of these thermometers in my homebuilt BBQ smoker, one up high & one at the grill rack level, so far they have held up good, they havent sen rain yet so we'll see if they fog up,but as far as accuracy, they are kinda SLOW to change temp, and mine seem 20-30degrees off target at time ( I double checked multiple spots inside with a laser thermometer & also with a ThermoKing TP-17 dual probe thermometer, which BTW I am SUPER happy with - the ThermoPro is super accurate & can be stuck into the food item, has temp alarms, is super fast temp read etc....even tells ya what temp to keep the bbq at for different kinds of meat.anyways, these BBQ smoker thermometers are FINE as a backup or general thermometer, but if you are crazy about temperature accuracy, you might want to check out other options
