this thing is amazing and so worth it. i've used for over 3 years now and it's been beat up and left in the weather and everything and still works great. the bluetooth is surprisingly reliable and long range. i can go inside and leave in the grill outside. i also use in the oven for things like thanksgiving turkey!

First off, the iGrill has worked flawlessly for me. I can throw on the meat and monitor it on my tablet or phone inside and only go outside if I need to make adjustments. With the Weber iGrill, I cooked a perfect turkey for Thanksgiving using the meat thermometer and extra probe to monitor ceramic grill temp.This probe is great and thicker for just monitoring the grill temp. Comes with a clip for the grate and allows you to put it where the meat is cooking. MUCH better than the horrible grill thermometers on the lids. Mine is off by at least 50 degrees. Now I know the exact temp of the grill. Love it.

Very smartly designed. I maybe like the cord wraps they come with as much as the probes themselves. I know this is silly, but lots of cord wrap solutions do a terrible job. These hold the probe itself perfectly, and are precisely tapered inwardly to keep the cord from coming out, but without making it difficult to put it in there. The cord wraps/holders snap together so you can keep multiple probes together for storage. As a former product designer, I hope whoever designed those suckers knows that someone out in the world really appreciates how well they're thought out.As far as the functionality of the probes and the app, they're pretty great. The app is pretty user friendly, though I think they could study the Chef Steps Sous Vide app to get some pointers on making it even better. I haven't had any problems with the Bluetooth functionality that some have reported (I use an old iPhone 8). I only took a star off because I would love it if these did Wifi so I could step further away than 30 feet, and maybe even monitor longer cooks (like Brisket) while running an errand.

I've been grilling for decades, and for the most part have used the instant read thermometer, which I still use. But I've recently been trying out smoking on my Weber grill, and this is fantastic for doing that. I can keep an eye on the temp of the grill and the meat without having to constantly stab it with the Instant read, and even be in the house when I'm using it, and keep track with my iphone. I've seen some reviews that pan it, but I'm guessing that they really didn't understand how to use it. It's working great for me!

Must have if you have the iGrill3 and do smoke or rotisserie cooking. Temp gauge on any BBQ hood is generally inaccurate - even for high end models. My Weber Genesis II's gauge is off by approx 25 degrees (lower) compared to reading from this probe. Easy to attach to warming rack with enclosed spring clip. I now have more confidence that the temperature I have in the grill is right for what I need to do. Also the iGrill3 set up is great - don't have to run in and out of the house to check the grill / cooking temperature as it alerts me if it is under or over the range I selected.

I replaced a probe that was 5+ years old. From the original iGrill, before Weber became involved. The new probe works fine. I tested in ice cold and boiling water to confirm accuracy -- spot-on.

This fit my Weber thermometer and I wonder why there wasn't an ambient temperature probe included from the start. Seems pretty accurate when compared to instant read thermometer.

Although the hood thermometer on my Weber Genesis II E-310 is good quality and relatively accurate, it does not give an accurate reading down at the grill plate level. I purchased this ambient probe because I use my grill for low n slow smoking of Briskets and for Pork Butt Roasts. This requires that the burners on one side of the grill remain off. I clipped this ambient probe to the grill plate just an inch from the meat and I was surprised to see that when it reached the 275F mark the hood thermometer was showing a temp of 350F. That's a HUGE difference when your smoking low n slow. If you have an iGrill then this probe is a must.
