How to use our belt tension gauge
- Position the small O ring over the 10 pounds mark.
- Position the U shaped belt stand against the bottom of the belt at a 90 degree angle and locate the large O ring to a reference point, record reading.
- Push upward on the rubber bumper until the small O ring touches the bottom of the tool body.
- Realign the large O ring to the reference point; difference in the reading is the belt deflection.

At a fraction of the price of the Harley version of this tool, you can't go wrong. I checked the accuracy of the spring tension of this tool against a calibrated scale and it is right on the money at 10 pounds. My only complaint is that the zero and ten pound markings on the rod are very hard to read, so I enhanced the groove around the rod at the ten pound mark with a small pipe cutting tool. Now it is perfect and I am very happy with this tool.
