Important Note

The type, quality and length of this item is perfect for watching content from you laptop or computer. We have used it for connecting to a monitor for work on a computer as well as connecting a laptop to watch streaming content. Works perfectly and we needed the extra length in both configurations.

I just got a refurbished iMac for myself, and unlike newer macs with USB-C thunderbolt ports, this mac has a pair of mini Display Port thunderbird slots. This simple miniDP to HDMI cable allowed me to plug and play a 2nd 27" monitor to double my screen real estate. The 3' compact length prevents excess cable clutter. Perfect cable for my needs and very inexpensive. Would recommend to anyone needing this type of combo cable.

I bought this cable because I needed video cable to connect my Surface Pro 7 to a monitor (from Surface dock). I tried this cable only once and it worked. I have problem with the fact that this cable has GOLD plated connectors, to be precise Gold-plated shell around connectors.Gold-plated contacts are one thing. It is reasonable and understandable to provide high signal level.I would not be surprised if the HDMI design specifications require gold plated contacts (if not explicitly, then implicitly through test requirements)On the other hand, having gold-plated shell is nothing more than a marketing plot that can cost a lot more.Outer shell around the connectors (as is the case with USB, HDMI and all other connectors) doesn't have any impact on signal quality. Its only function is to protect connectors from mechanical damage and removing it will have no effect on cables' performance. Some exotic cable design can utilize metal shielding around entire cable length (similar to coax cable) and in this case outer shell around connectors provide grounding path. It is done to provide additional protection from EMI.General use HDMI, USB and DisplayPort cables with gold-plated shell can potentially do more harm than good. Consider the fact that all HDMI, USB and DisplayPort connectors on PCs, TVs and laptops have nickel plated shells around connectors, not gold-plated. If you have cable with gold-plated shells, you are creating contact of dissimilar materials and you are taking the chance that if you have humidity then nickel will start corroding after a while and can potentially damage the connected devices.

Ayant une smart TV ancienne génération qui a tendance à bugger, même branchée directement dans le modem (image qui se fige par exemple), je me suis enfin décidée à acquérir un câble HDMI - mini display port, car il faut bien que Lenovo se démarque de la majorité :)Il fonctionne parfaitement, je n'ai plus aucun bug, l'image est claire, le son qui passe dans la barre son est très bon.Je vais enfin pouvoir regarder Amazon Prime sur ma tv sans m'énerver ;-) . Cela m'évitera, dans l'immédiat, l'achat d 'un nouveau téléviseur.
