1）Uni-directional, Not Bidirectional
- It's designed for the computer or laptop with DisplayPort output, to the monitor with VGA input
- It's not for the monitor with DisplayPort input, it's an uni-directional adapter.
2) Not compact with HDMI/USB/Mini Displayport/DVI
- The video source is the DisplayPort, it is different with HDMI Port/USB Port/Mini Displayport Port.
- The screen connector is VGA Port,it is different with DVI Port.

It was very easy to hook up between new PC and old monitor - plug and play - it worked immediately! So giving it 5 stars as it does what it's supposed to. No fault of this adapter I'm sure, but some things, especially pdf docs are a bit blurry. Probably time for us to think about updating this old VGA monitor.

Bought two of these in order to add third monitors to two laptops connected via docking stations. We still had a couple older monitors with VGA connectors. Saved them from the landfill and saved us a lot of money buying new monitors.
