BENFEI Compact HDMI to VGA Male to Female Adapter
Benfei HDMI to VGA Adapter provides a cost-effective and universal solution for connecting a desktop, laptop, or other devices with HDMI port to a VGA display such as monitor, projector or TV. How to Use
1st Step:
- Plug the Micro USB to USB charging cable to the BENFEI HDMI2VGA adapter
- Plug the Micro USB to USB charging cable to the external power supply
Note:
- The micro usb to usb charging cable is already included in the package.
2nd Step:
- Connect the VGA cable to the VGA monitor
- Connect the VGA cable to the BENFEI HDMI2VGA adapter
3rd Step:
- Select the video mode, mirror mode or extended mode as your need
- Mirror Mode: Makes your holiday photos and favorite films so much more interesting and enjoyable on the big screen!

I was having an issue finding an HDMI to VGA adapter that worked with a CRT. The powered port allowed signal to come through, but I do have to cycle my monitor a few times to get the connection going sometimes. Remember that VGA cords are heavy, sadly mine broke after half a year of use due to the weight. I will be getting it again and using an HDMI extension cable to alleviate the pressure.

I love my MacBook Air (MBA)but it only has two USB=C ports, one needed for power. The hub I got expands that but I needed to connect my older (really older but still works fine) Lenovo external display to the MBA. The hub had an HDMI port and, of course, the display had an old style VGA port. This adapter handled that very nicely!

Because it looked too good to be true (price, ease of use), I was cautiously optimistic. I am pleased to report that it works BEAUTIFULLY, and will be getting more as backups to keep in my laptop bag and on-site desk for when the world opens back up again. Great purchase.

Product functioned to send video to second screen. But didn’t fit my situation. My HDMI port is immediately to the left of my USB port so the wire to charge the device is blocked by the usb itself. See image of device in the ad.

This adapter gives you VGA output from the HDMI port on the Mac mini 2018. I am using this to adapt the Mac mini to an old monitor. You do have to supply power to this adapter via the port on the side of it. Also, keep in mind since it plugs into the HDMI directly (no wire) it will block the use of 1 USB port. I have used one other type of adapter for this but it would work sometimes and then not work sometimes. This one worked instantly, no reboot or drivers needed.

SI comporta bene per chi come me vuole riciclare un vecchio monitor come secondo video per un portatile.Ha in dotazione un cavo di alimentazione sufficientemente lungo da raggiungere la usb messa sul lato opposto del mio portatile rispetto alla hdmi. Il cavo non è sempre necessario, dipende dalla propria porta hdmi e dal video ma è utile averla.Ovviamente la sua compattezza è un pregio ma anche un difetto in quanto sporge molto una volta collegato al cavo VGA e se hai una porta usb accanto all'hdmi e usi chiavette larghe.Io in ogni caso la consiglio.
