Yeah It broke as soon as the 30 day return window expired. Considering I could no longer I couldn't return it, I decided to take it apart and see what the hell went wrong. The weld's holding the audio jack are so pathetic it was hard to believe. Tiny pin spot welds with almost no solder. It broke free from the motherboard circuit board and it was just rolling around. All it needed was a little more solder which I think would have cost them like .00001 cent. I guess we're all attracted to a great price and hope for the best. However this one was a bad choice. I suggest you not purchase it.

I picked this up in order to connect an old VGA 4:3 ratio flat-panel monitor to my PlayStation 2 system via an HDMI cable.Having plugged the HDMI cable into the adapter after screwing it onto the VGA port, I was able to get a video display from the PS2.(I did have to make some adjustments to get the display correctly sized and centered).Being that the monitor is an old Dell brand from approximately 2004, it doesn’t come with built-in speakers. This adapter does have a 3.5mm audio jack, which is designed to handle the audio portion of the HDMI input. I attempted connecting an old pair of speakers using the included audio cable. So far, I have not been able to get any audio output. I am unsure if the issue is with the adapter itself or the attached speakers.This adapter has allowed me to get some use out of an older monitor/gaming system, so that I don’t have to waste a newer widescreen monitor on a gaming device that doesn’t really support the 16:9 video format. If I can figure out the sound issue, I’ll be pretty satisfied.

This device is a converter to permit you to connect your newer computer or media device to an older monitor which may have only a VGA input. This allows you to use an older, large-screen LCD or plasma TV for a large screen monitor. It also allows you to use a monitor on which the HDMI ports may have failed or been damaged by a power surge (this happened to me). Unless you are doing high performance gaming, having a really large screen monitor on your desktop or laptop is an amazing improvement. An Ultra HD or 4K monitor is best, but even a basic HDTV with a screen size of 32 or 40 inches is a great improvement.

I received the product in very poor condition. The packaging was broken, the product box was broken and crushed. The converter arrived scratched and crumpled at one end. The audio cable that should be included did not arrive.

I decided to not try and use it. I removed the converter from the packaging and it fell apart. Just wasn’t snapped or plastic welded together I guess. Looked so sad and flimsy that I decided to just return it and go another route.

Its working very well. 3.5 mm jack working. Quality is also good. Go for it if you want HDMI output to VGA input

Product quality is very poor, its hard to tight screws and unscrewing whole part came apart.Only VGA works and 3.5jack Audio is not working...Not recommended
