I almost didn’t buy this but am very glad I did. I wanted one that released the soil but this was fairly easy to do with a good whack or a poke. I placed the bulb planter over various soil types and twisted back and forth. I was surprised I got nice holes over heavy clay soil and tree roots. Definitely a very helpful product that seems sturdy and well made.

Very well built tool. Should last a lifetime. I use this tool for something other than what was intended. I use it to help me rid my lawn of moles! When I discover a mole run, I use this tool to take a plug out of the run. This tool removes the dirt and leaves a nice neat hole down to the run. I can then place bait or, in my case, an exhaust pipe into the unobstructed hole and it’s goodbye moles. Works every time. Prior to finding this tool the hole would always collapse. Works great for what I’m using it for.

Ideal for planting deep bulbs. I was able to dig the proper depth for daffodils. Is a bit narrow for the larger ones but you can easily widen it a bit. Easy to return dirt back into hole by turning it upside down and tapping. I am a senior with not a lot of upper body strength but able to use this. Very well made. Thick metal solid wooden handle. Seems it will last a long time.

I did not find this tool helpful. The dirt doesn't nicely come out -- maybe ground needs to be wet? Ended up just using a shovel to part the dirt and put in the bulb.

This is the first time I planted bulbs, 204 to be exact. The ground was a little damp and so the first was a little packed. Had to use a tool to get the first out of the bulb planter, not as easy as it looks on the video. It is quite sturdy for sure, just a little more effort than I was expecting.

I'm so glad I got this. I bought a bunch of bulbs this year (tulips, daffodils and alliums) and just planted about 30 in soil with a pretty high clay content. The size was perfect and it held up great, no bending or twisting metal and the toothed bottom cut right through with no frustration. I did amend the soil a bit but it still takes some muscling to get through that dirt and would have been an absolute nightmare using just a trowel for all of them getting six inches deep and wide enough for a bulb. With this, I just twisted down until it got as deep as I wanted, pulled it all up, plopped in the bulb and pushed the dirt back out to fill the hole.Important, maybe obvious advice: don't be a fool like me and try to push the dirt back the way it went in. I wasted so much effort and time trying that before I realized halfway through. The shape of the thing makes that ridiculously difficult if you have clay soil that compacts. Push it out in the direction of the handle. So much easier.

This tool made planting my bulbs so much easier and quicker. It's a solid tool, I don't see how it could break. It leaves a clean hole to place bulbs in and the depth marker is easy to see and read. Highly recommend this, very pleased with my purchase.

Mich hat beim Auspacken direkt die hochwertige Verarbeitung überzeugt. Jedoch habe ich den Artikel direkt wieder retourniert, da ich einen anderen gekauft habe, bei welchem ein Hebel gedrückt werden kann, damit die Erde noch leichter wieder raus fällt. Und da ich in Kürze 400 Blumenzwiebeln setzen muss, wollte ich es mir so einfach wie möglich machen! Toll fand ich hier auch die Einkerbungen mit den Maßangaben. So weiß man direkt, wie tief da Loch bereits "ausgehoben" wurde.
