Soak the cedar grilling planks in hot water for at least 1-2 hours.The grilling plnaks should be completely submerged in the water.Place the food on the grilling planks. Place your planks on the grill at about 400℃ direct heat for 2-3 minutes unitl the grilling planks is slightly burned on all sides and starts to smoke.Then,position the grilling planks on indirect heat unit the food is cooked.During the entire grilling process,the lid of the grill shoude be closed.

I was excited to try these and cook some salmon on my grill but I had an average experience with these cedar grilling planks. I soaked them for over an hour as instructed, but they still caught fire and burned up on the grill. The smell of cedar was nice, but the planks didn't hold up as well as I'd hoped. Maybe try soaking them for longer or using a lower heat.

We grill salmon on cedar planks that I soak for half a day. I change the water twice in 4 hours so if anything had gotten on the wood, it would be gone. Taste is great from a cedar plank. These are a really good size for fish/seafood. I will be buying again.

Great planks for CNC router and laser practice and inexpensive signs including outdoor usage due to the cedar. I was looking for inexpensive wood blanks/planks to use while learning CNC router skills. These worked perfectly and also have also had success with CNC laser however the routing is best with these. Recommend these for the CNC newbie and to make outdoor signs such as address markers.

I did note realize the size when I placed my order for these 5.5 x 11 salmon grilling cedar planks. We love the flavor of grilled salmon that has been cooked on a cedar plank over an open fire, so I did not hesitate to order when this item was offered. My only issue is that the size of the plank will not allow you to cook an entire side of salmon, but will allow you to probably cook up to 3 decent sized filets. For those with a larger, you will need to use more than one plank. The smell of cedar is not overly pungent, but more a natural cedar scent, and one that doesn't appear to be chemically enhanced in any way. The boards are smooth, and will certainly do the trick for your smaller filets. You *could perhaps put two boards together, and lay a salmon side across, but always easier to go with a larger plank if you intend to cook a whole side. I will update accordingly if we encounter any issues with these planks in the coming weeks/months, but for now, I would recommend them for individual salmon filets and/or seafood.

I needed a different way to make salmon on the grill. The cedar planks are perfect. Make sure you soak them in the sink for several hours before use. Otherwise they might catch on fire. You can use each one multiple times if you watch carefully while the salmon is cooking with great flavor it infuses into the fish. I would definitely buy these again.

These are perfect for grilling salmon. It keeps the fish moist and from overcooking. I love the flavor it gives. An added bonus with these planks is that I can store them in my closet and they naturally are a moth repellent. I highly recommend these cedar planks.

Quality good but wont fit a whole side of salmon on them
