These telescoping antennas work well on my Bearcat scanner. The build quality is shoddy and they will probably break very easily, the screw joint is very loose and can’t be tightened further so the antenna flops around but I just put a spot of solder on there and now it’s fixed in place.It seems to pickup better than the OEM ‘rubber ducky’ antenna and being able to adjust the length also seems to help with tuning at certain frequencies but I haven’t done a proper comparison so I don’t have real proof of that aspect.All in all they are fine for the price point and they met my expectations.

This antenna is very cheaply made from something that doesn't look like it's even metal. It's loose and wobbles around so much, it's unusable.

It will be hit or miss if you get one that can stand up straight on its own. Reception is good but these tend to fall left or right so easily.

The sections telescoped and retracked without any problem. The BNC connected smoothly without binding. These types of antennas are very handy, but a little delicate; the 2-pack is a good value. Recommended for a VHF/low UHF whip.

Needed something quick and cheap, knew what I was doing. But still, this thing flops like nobody's business. Unless pointed up, it will not stay in position when extended even a bit. I always thought these antennas should include a ratcheting type joint to prevent the flapping and falling. Oh well
