This has a large, easy to read gauge & works really well for making my Grams old fashioned fudge. I especially like the red arrow that can be placed at the temperature I need. I also like the candy stages e.g. soft ball, hard ball etc.

Calibration is right on. Well made, sealed for dishwater safe cleaning. Would have given 5 stars, but the pan clamp needs some improvement. (Does not hold onto the pan edge adequately)

This was a life saver for all my holiday baking. Arrived super fast. Holiday fudge was saved. Nothing was over done and super easy to read.

Not sure if I got a bad one, but mine reads about 20 degrees cooler than what it should be. We make candy and caramel apples and I liked the dial design. First batch of candy apple sugar seemed to be taking longer than usual but this thermometer was still reading 280 degrees. Ideal temp for candy apples is 300-302. Trusted the thermometer and when the temp showed 300 you could smell burning sugar. Tried another batch and thought maybe the probe wasn’t in the syrup deep enough. That helped but the thermometer still reads too low based on an old style thermometer I have.

Large enough for me to see, sturdy enough to last a life time

Purchased to use as intended: to measure the temperature of ingredients being cooked into candies, and to measure fry oil temperature. Temperature readings are inconsistent and wildly inaccurate when compared to other digital and analog thermometers. If there is a minimum saturation point required for an accurate reading, this isn't marked on the product or noted with product packaging. I even tried using the thermometer in conditions where the pot contents threatened to boil over the edge -- basically, the best use case for this device. It was slow to approximate the temperature and it was still 50 degrees off from a more accurate digital thermometer I pulled out to calibrate the device.Total waste of time and a huge disappointment.

I was very disappointed with this product. It broke the first time I used it. I would not recommend ðŸ˜.

Good price on these thermometers. I never used it yet but it seems well made. I ordered two and one came with the little red indicator on the edge missing but otherwise it should work well.

I had another one that I broke the glass and replaced it with the same one. It's exactly what I need.

I bought this one because it showed in the photos that it has a red marker to mark the temp you're aiming for. It came and didn't have it. Look elsewhere if you're hoping for one.
