I don't tend to use plywood for projects other than a base, covered with actual wood but there are times when plywood just works better in an application/project where it will be visible. Edges of plywood as you know are inconsistent and even with sanding & finishing, it still looks like plywood. This edge banding completely removes that problem and works beyond my satisfaction. I do however recommend using some kind of iron versus a heat gun. My first few attempts at applying were with a heat gun, it doesn't adhere as well and the banding can discolor. I actually used my wife's small heat iron that she uses on her vinyl after that, they are very inexpensive and the size is much more manageable versus a typical clothes iron. The iron just seems to make the adhesion that much stronger, I literally could not pull the stuff off after ironing, which wasn't the case with the heat gun. It can be bent around corners or cut to fit, but I would also recommend hitting it with 220 or higher grit sandpaper to make it look more natural, but do it while it's hot so the glue holds the sawdust as a sealer. It also stains/paints nicely. Definitely recommend it to friends, family, and fellow woodworkers looking to hide those hideous plywood edges.

I am almost through my roll of 3/4" pre-glued edge banding from Edge Supply and it has been working really well for me. I bought some more of the 3/4" and some of the 2" for a specialty project. The adhesion of the edge banding works perfectly for me every time. I just use a cheap iron to melt it on and the process is fast and I always feel confident in it. I have been trimming the banding to size with a utility knife and that works really well. It's close enough that I probably don't even need to sand it.The birch stains well and is a nice match for the Home Depot birch plywood sheets and complements the pine sheets nicely as well.Overall, I couldn't ask for a better product and it seems to be one of the less expensive brands as well.

I wondered how effective the glue would be, but it holds really well. I ordered a size about 1/16 of an inch too big so I had to trim them. Trimming was a pain so definitely try to get the exact size you need. The banding is unfinished. Since I was putting it on natural finished cabinets I simply gave it a shot of clear spray lacquer to seal it after it was applied. The results turned out well and I would recommend the product. This was used on the cabinets above and next to my range. The moisture from cooking had caused the original edgebanding to curl and come loose. Hopefully the real wood will stand up better than the cheap thin stuff they came with. I had much better results trimming to size before putting it on than trying to trim it afterward.

This is my second time ordering this edging. Worked so well the first time, which no splitting or bad patches, so I ordered again.

Goes on smooth and sands like a dream. Accepts conditioner and stain just like regular wood. Finishes up real nice. I'm definitely getting this again.
