Black Diamond Storm 500-R Rechargeable Headlamp
The Black Diamond Storm 500 rechargeable headlamp is engineered for epics in all conditions, featuring a robust waterproof/dustproof housing and 500 lumens of bright light. Powered by our BD 2400 Li-ion battery that’s charged by a micro USB, the Storm 500 R also features a sustainably made elastic headband with Repreve recycled textiles. The compact body is ergonomic, and the updated user interface includes a secondary switch for easy mode selection. In addition, the updated optical efficiency not only provides brighter light, but also saves battery life that you can now easily track with a six-setting, three-LED battery meter. The Storm 500 R camping headlamp also has three different colored night vision modes and peripheral white lighting for close-range activities like carefully re-racking for the final summit pitch in the dark. The headlamp has our Brightness Memory feature, which allows you to turn the light on and off at a chosen brightness without reverting back to the default, full power setting. The Storm 500 R's PowerTap Technology enables you to quickly and easily access maximum brightness with the touch of a finger.

This is really well designed. I was a little leery of the single-tap to change brightness, and it is occasionally the only thing that I have an issue with, but it's minor and if you're careful about it, it's very handy. The brightness is great, the battery life is great, the lock mechanism is really well thought out, the flexibility is fantastic and the less commonly used light options are just hard enough to use that you don't wind up with them accidentally all the time, but can find them quickly and intuitively when you need them.And this thing has been a blessing as I'm older and I tend to need something to shed some extra light on lots of the things I'm doing. Granted ANY light could do this, but I'm very happy with this selection.I was also amused to find out my daughter- who has another light- was like "Oooo! Black diamond! I want one of theirs!" I don't understand this since she bought the one she has, but maybe she's not as amazing of a product researcher as I am since I bought this as my first ever headlight. :)

Best rechargeable headlamp on the market. Good adjustability for the head band and angle of the light, brightness on max or dim and in between is good, battery indicator light. There’s nothing not to like about it. Buy with confidence! Perfect for hunting or grilling at night.

I already have this and bought this one for boyfriend because I loved mine so much. Used for backpacking. Love battery life and ease of use. No issues with corner tap off. This is great headlight. Very bright spotlight. Love the various color options, especially for when I don’t want white light and is not enough. Would buy again.

Ordered this light after losing power with hurricane Helene in Florida and it came in clutch for hurricane Milton. Super bright and lasts a long time. Also, love being able to recharge the batteries. A bit pricey for a headlamp but well worth the money in my opinion.

I like this light a lot. It's my second one as the first disappeared recently while in the shop having some work done on my car.The battery life is amazing and I don't seem to struggle as much as some other reviewers with the high low switch on the side of the light. Yes it will go brighter and dimmer if you touch it but also very nice to toggle back and forth when you need to. As long as you're not constantly fidgeting with the light it stays at the brightness that it's set for

Sehr hell, die Bedienung ist durchdacht mit zwei Knöpfen (muss man aber erst mal lernen, die optionen sind vielfach) und die Akkulaufzeit der Hammer.Ich habe auch die Campinglampe von BlackDiamond (Moji+) , welche das gleiche Bedienkonzept hat.Richtig toll finde ich auch, dass sie sich in allen drei Modi die Helligkeitseinstellung merkt. Und falls man mal sehr viel licht braucht, tippt man auf die seite.Hatte inzwischen 5 Headlamps über die letzten 15 Jahre (Petzl und LedLenser) und das ist wirklich bisher die Beste die ich je hatte.Einziges Manko, der Akku ist nicht tauschbar. Falls der Akku irgendwann schlapp macht, muss die ganze Headlamp dran glauben. Jedoch hat ein Freund einen der Vorgänger und wünscht sich inzwischen, seine alte BlackDiamond würde endlich schlapp machen, dass er einen Grund hat, sich die 500er zu holen ;)
