I love this bow, i ordered one for my wife, and another gor my self. I recently switched to lefty due to eye dominance. I needed an inexpensive bow to try. So i looked on youtube for reviews. The Black Hunter was very prominent and highly rated, this and the crazy low price helped my decision. Switching hands was life changing! This bow shoots great is pretty smooth and puts the arrows where i am looking. And the price cant be beat, i just ordered one with hunting weight limbs(45) , limbs were available separately but for the cost i can keep one for stumping ( or a loaner) and one set up and hunt ready The only thing i think it needs straight away is a good string, the one it came with was a bit loud . I twisted up some flemish strings and it was even better!

This was not a very expensive item for what I got. It is a very beautiful, and functional low. It was easy to string. I’ve already shot it and I just received it this morning. It will be a fantastic asset to my collection.

This bow is an excellent way to delve into traditional archery. The longbow is good quality, has a decent finish and shoots very well. It is surprisingly accurate and handles great. Like any new bow, it does require some tuning, but that is to be expected. The addition of cat whiskers on the string made a tremendous difference and the bow became almost unbelievably quiet! While the string on my bow was okay, one should expect to upgrade the stock string at some point and keep it as a backup. Overall, this bow is a top shelf value for a beginner to intermediate archer.

I'm a beginning archer, and bought this bow after getting a really cheap one on T*mu. This one is much better - finished nicely, with a good tight fit of the limbs on the riser. The grip is very comfortable. It was pretty twangy until I got a better string and some silencers. Now it's quiet. I'm getting pretty accurate with the bow. My only reservation is that the 30# pull I ordered turns out to only be 26#. That's probably actually a benefit, since my shoulders had to get used to drawing the bow, and I get to work on my form at this draw weight. I will buy some heavier draw limbs soon.

For $97, it is a very good deal. ...if you have a garage. I do, and I expected some issues, which I am working on. The riser bolts are 13 mm shorter than the riser insert, so I bought some longer bolts. Then I thought better of it, and cut the bolt heads off, and drilled / tapped some knurled solid brass Hob. Lob. drawer pulls ( housewares 50% off this week) and made it a manual takedown. Honestly I would have done it anyway. BTW, the bolts are M8 by 1.25 and NO, Sam Sage bolts don't fit. For a beginner learning to keep the arrow on the shelf, good luck. The shelf slopes downward, and there is a long slant downwards away from the riser. I'll be doing surgery on it. Be careful when you string, that your string is seated, it likes to slide outwards....surgery. The good.....beautiful limbs, very good fit and finish. Beautiful bow. I bought 30 lb limbs. It is 30.27 lbs ( average of 10 measures at 7 1/2" brace height). Fast shipping. I will be ordering more limbs , once I finish the riser.

I'm new to archery and wanted something I could practice with on my property. I have really enjoyed using this bow and as I get better/stronger I can get heavier limbs for it. It was rated well on You Tube and that is why I purchased it.

I have previously purchased 3 Black Hunter bows sold by Obert. They are all nice bows for the money. This Glurak black Hunter is poor quality compared to the others. The limb wedges are to short and the limbs are lifting away from the riser / limb bed rather than being fully on the pad. The locating pins pulled out of the riser and stuck in the limbs. The radius from sight window to arrow rest ledge is so radiused the arrow is pushed away from the window. The limbs are cut atrociously. Wavy from wedge to tip. The limbs are excessively wide towards to tips for no good reason. The limb bolt holes arevoversise, which allows the limbs to shift left to right. Do yourself a favor, buy Ober Black Hunters, or a PMZ Coral Snake. I have one, and it’s a great value. The only junk bow I’ve purchased out of 9 bows is a Glurak.

I bought this bow after watching hours of reviews for something under $200 to start out with. Kramer Ammons has two fantastic youtube breakdowns on this bow (one for the recurve and one for the longbow), and I'm extremely satisfied with the purchase. (I went with the longbow.) I've shot nearly 3,000 arrows with it now, and plan to buy a fancier bow string once the basic one that it comes with wears out, but have absolutely no complaints, especially for the price. As I practice each day, my shots get more and more accurate, and I have no doubt whatsoever that my own technique and skills are the only impediment to perfection. It's relatively lightweight and quiet, though I also added a homemade wool string silencer, mostly just for fun, as I'm just using it for target practice anyway. I'm an average-height dude with average arm strength (presumably, I'm not a powerlifter or anything) and started out with the 35lb model. I'm planning to buy another 25lb bow for my wife and daughter to start out with, and if they take to the sport like I have, it will be very easy to buy another set or two of risers if they want more power thanks to the interchangeable format. All-in-all, it's absolutely delivered on the hype, at nearly half the price I thought I might have to pay to get started. 5 stars all the way.

Overall, a good product. A little pissed it didn't come with a bow stringer

Great design delivers fast arrow flight and fast to shoot 145fps with 530grain arrow at draw weight of 39punds.. Tiller split is 3/16ths great for 3 fingers under. With beaver fur string silencers and brace height of 7.5 inches is wisper quite. Limb and riser finish is excellent with no flaws I could spot. Grip is very comfortable.

At the price and after seeing a lot of good reviews, I thought it worthwhile to get a takedown bow. It arrived promptly, double boxed with all advertised parts present. The riser and limbs were each in a separate padded sleeve/bubble wrap.So far, I shot maybe 100 arrows with it, without even installing the hair rest or strike plate, and like it a lot. As other reviewers have noted, the grip places the hand in a good position. I'm a fairly small person and the riser is on the heavy and chunky side, but the grip is not too large to be comfortable in my hand. The bow draws nicely and I shoot more accurately with it than my other bows (a couple of low end laminated one-piece longbows and a small horsebow). It seems closer to centreshot than my other bows. Using the 25lbs limbs and at my draw length of 24", I am pulling ~20 lbs. My 28" long, 800 spined arrows with 75 grain tips seem to work decently, but I've not yet tried tuning with bareshaft or paper. I also haven't yet checked the draw weight at 28", but I'm suspecting the limbs are a few lbs overweight; they should be ~17lbs at my draw length instead of 20lbs. While I can draw the 20 lbs, it wouldn't be comfortable for long shooting sessions, so I ordered a set of 20 lbs limbs also. Cheaper, mass-produced bows like this often have more discrepancy in draw weight than higher end custom models. I'd gladly pay an extra $20 to pick a limb set checked individually. This newer Black Hunter design with the squared off limb butts is a noticeably more angular bow than the earlier version, but went with this one to be able to try switching top and bottom limb if they are out of tiller. For 50 lbs the heavy riser is probably good, but it seems overbuilt for my poundage. Great Plains Traditional Bow Company made a few youtube videos on how to modify the Black Hunter, so I'm not afraid to take a rasp and sandpaper to make it more rounded and a bit lighter. The edges of the limb tips and string grooves are also a bit sharp and unrefined, calling for a touch of sandpaper. That all said, for 2X or 3X the price I probably could find a bow that is exactly how I like it out of the box, but I enjoy tinkering. I don't even know where the closest archery store to try out bows actually is; definitely at least a day's drive away.

Came well packaged, easy to set up. Shoots well with little hand shock or vibration. I added silencers and worked on brace height and knock point. Only one issue was the top limb has a bow in the base where attaches to the bow. Hoping they will read this and send a new one. But again great little bow and stacks up against my higher priced ones. Update March 2024, I got in touch with the seller last week and they resolved the issue quickly and I recieved new limbs today. Very easy to deal with.
