I bought this for my Blackstar HT Club 40 MKII. Yes, the footswitch title denotes Venue MKII but this will also work with the Club too. To unlock the full potential of the amp, you will need this and like the title of this revue says, it should have been included with the amp. The clean button toggles between the AC30-ish sound and the Fender Blackface-ish tone. There are selections for overdrive one and overdrive two. There is a boost button and this is what really unlocks the amp and makes a huge difference. It makes the clean channel break up much easier and on the overdrive channels it'll give you a boost from going from rhythm to lead, or just plain gives you more distortion and volume. The final button turns the reverb on and off, pretty basic stuff. But the clincher is the boost button because there is no other way to access this feature on the amp and it opens a new world of tonal possibilities.

The unit arrived in great condition, but as others have noted that the foot switch will go bad in a very short period of time. I’ve had this for only a week and the second OD light went out and I will not switch. They make great amplifiers, but they really need to step it up a bit and make a fantastic foot switch.

Like someone else mentioned, these should be included with the amp! Being able to access the boost function is wonderful! I love how the reverb can be switched off and on with the pedal. I wish the buttons were just a little taller and had a more distinguished click sound. Everything works flawlessly. Not sure why someone on here was saying that you have to "walk down" on the pedal to switch between clean and overdrive 2. I am not having that issue. I would recommend this to anyone with a Blackstar that can utilize it. (I have a club 40 mkII)

Pretty much a must-have if you have a HT Blackstar amp. Gives you full access to all three channels - plus voice switching. Very nice sleek design too - not bulky like some other multi-switch pedals. Included cord is nice and long too for optimal stage setup.

I turn the amp on and it doesn't recognize the FS-14, I shut it off and back on again and it sees the pedal. It does this every time. Aside from that annoyance the pedal basically functions, but there is no way to adjust the boost level (which seems very high, like 15db), the switches are very low profile and have no tactical feedback as to whether or not they have been pressed. Overall I find that the original 2 button pedal that came with the amp, and good clean boost and reverb pedals do the job far better than this expensive unit.

Edit: someone wrote a review about how you have to stair step the buttons to go through the channels through the foot switch, he was wrong! You can go from the clean channel and switch to OD 2 without having to go to OD 1 first, and vise versa you can go from OD 2 straight to the clean without stair stepping back to OD 1 then to clean! This foot switch is perfect for the blackstar Ht stage 100 MK II and others in the series! Original review: I have the original blackstar HT stage 100 amp head that came with the 4 way switch, and I just upgraded to the new version the mark 2 and it’s amazing with the new specs like being able to bring it down to 10 watts and the direct input on the back, makes it easier for gigs so I don’t have to mic my cab. This foot switch would have been nice to be included with the amp but the new specs compared to the old 4 way switch is such an upgrade with the added boost switch and being able to switch through the voices. If you have the venue 40-100 this is a must have to have full control over switching channels and the added boost for solos that cut right through. Also didn’t purchase through Amazon, bought mine through guitarcenter cause it would be delivered faster

Delivery was earlier than expected so very pleased with that. The switch itself is well made with a nice long lead, I will replace this with a higher quality cable but it is perfectly functional. BUYERS NEED TO KNOW - When you connect this Blackstar HT FS-14 Footswitch to your amp, the LEDs for the clean and OD channels will flash like they are freaking out and there is no sound from the amp during this "freak out" , it looks like there is a fault, but I researched this, it is PERFECTLY NORMAL for these amps. The amp is formatting the 5 way switch before use., it takes 3-5 minutes and once complete the switch works like a dream. It really opens up the possibilities on what is already a great amp. I have the 2x30 MKIII BTW, the newer version of the amp. Time will tell if the switch is reliable but so far so good.
