perfect size. i have the original miterix which i love but this thing fits in my Diamondback tool rig pouch much nicer, it also fits in a pants pocket which is convenient when running back and forth to the saw. added a picture with some other junk for size comparison. continue to be a huge fan of bora tools

I'm a professional remodeling contractor and installing trim is part of almost every job's scope of work for us. Was looking for something a little faster, easier and more fool proof than using my digital angle finders. Saw the Bora Miterix on youtube before so thought I'd give it a shot. Found the Bora Miterix Compact at a local big box store. Picked one up and before I checked out I opened the package to see how it functioned/felt, and I'm glad I did because one of the arms was significantly twisted rendering it useless. Got a different one despite having seen how defective one was right out of the package. I used it today installing 5-1/4" base moulding. This thing feels ultra cheap. Trying to use it seems really finicky and there's a lot of slop/play in the flimsy plastic arms so I was way less than confident trying to get some angles. It seems to work much better (although that's not saying much) when measuring inside corners than trying to measure outside corners. I did get the tool to function after finagling with it for way longer that I was anticipating. You need to try to keep the knob tight so it keeps the angle, but too much and you can't adjust it. The tool is very hard to have tight enough to adjust but still have it adjustable, if that makes sense.I plan to return this tool to the local store. I like the concept of the tool but this just isn't it. Might be good enough for some diy projects but professionally I can't waste that much time per corner when there's 50 of them to get done.I also plan on getting the "more expensive" one with the aluminum arms. The original one appears to be much more robust and sturdy. I think the price difference is $5 and I should have trusted my original feeling and just ordered the other one but I 'needed' it now. If Bora is to be taken as a more serious brand when it comes to jigs, it has to make you wonder why they would release a product like this Compact unit if the original is 10x better.Update: 10/29/23Bought received and used the original full flavored version of the Bora MiteriX and it is a night and day difference. Don't waste your time buying the compact version, spend the extra $10 and get the real one instead of this Fisher Price toy.

There is a lot of play in the angle after you tighten it down, so it's not very accurate in keeping your angle. So then you're tempted to try and tighten it more...well if you overtighten the knob breaks off and it's trash. Just get a protractor.

This sounds like a good idea, but the jig is flimsy.Probably good enough for most cuts, but if accuracy is a must, these flex too much. The idea is good, but should be better.I have used other Bora product and they have all been good, this was just a miss in my opinion

As a fellow DIY enthusiast, I completely understand the struggle of making precise corner cuts, especially when dealing with non-standard angles. The MiteriX takes the guesswork out of duplicating angles. Whether it’s an irregular corner or a custom miter, this tool splits the angle in half, allowing you to transfer it accurately to your miter saw. It’s compact enough to fit in your pocket or tool belt, so you can carry it wherever your projects take you. Whether you’re working on trim, baseboards, or picture frames, this little tool is a lifesaver. The tool feels robust and well-made. The markings are clear, and the locking mechanism holds the angle securely. It has saved me a ton of time as I suck at geometry and math as this is a hobby for me. Life saver!

I think this tool is alright for someone who only needs to use it a time or two and doesn't have prior experience mitering corners. It's what I get for trying to cut corners (ha!) with a shortcut. I will just stick with how I've always done it because this tool is cheap, easily breakable and not very accurate.
