Bosch Hex Shank Hammer Drill Masonry Bits deliver 4X life vs. standard masonry bits, and have been redesigned with hex shanks for use in hammer drills and impact drivers. These bits feature asymmetric diamond-ground carbide tips, which deliver fast drilling and longer bit life in hammer drills and impact drivers. The tips are designed for precise starts and less bit walking. The bit heads are manufactured with exclusive Bosch-made carbide. They have milled U-flutes with deep-cut spirals for fast drilling in block, masonry and concrete. The hex shank provides aggressive gripping power.

I can't say I've used tiny masonry bits like this before, but I am impressed with how strong these little things are. Was having issues with a big plow tip bit walking, so I picked these up to help drill precise, smaller holes first to pilot the larger bit in. Worked perfectly.Drilling into old concrete, I got about a dozen 2" deep holes out of one bit. Doesn't sound like much, but this particular concrete is pretty tough stuff and even the larger 5/16 Makita masonry bit used to achieve the final diameter had completely worn itself down by the time the Bosch was done. For the money, I can't really think of a better alternative. Pretty good.

I needed to put normal sized screws into a brick wall to mount something. Most masonry bits aren't as thin as this..and probably for good reason because the other ones I tried that were the same diameter either snapped off or had the tip literally melted from all the friction it was creating trying to drill. Put one of these in an impact driver and it cut through like butter. Bosch stuff is always good though so not surprised

I needed a small masonry bit for a project that required mounting lights to hardy plank/cement fiber board and this drill bit worked perfectly.

Nice drill bit, fair price and quick delivery, but for goodness sake, the description on the website is misleading or outright wrong. This is so typical of Amazon... Their description: "1/8 In. X 3 In. Hex Shank Hammer Drill Masonry Bit"For the record, this bit is 3.5 inches long including the hex shank. The effective drilling depth is about 2 3/8 inches. Now, was that so hard?

Cuts 2 1/2" deep.. Had to take a late drive to Home Depot to buy a foot long drill bit as they don't sell 3" drill bits. Very Frustrating... Going to shorten the screws as 3" aren't necessary in hard wood framing. 3" screws - unnecessary waste of time... 2" - 2.5" would be fine in good hard wood framing. It's a good drill, it just doesn't cut a 3" hole

It worked perfectly to pre-drill a hole on hardie boards.
