Easy removal of the caliper
Removing the caliper from the hub is relatively easy, as most calipers are fastened with just two screws. Some vehicles have sensors for the wear of the brake pads, which should be removed before removing them. Once the caliper is unscrewed, attach it to the car with your rope or bungee rope so that the brake line remains loose (stretching or damaging the line could cause problems later)

Worked great on my 2014 ford f150, but would be nice it the larger plates would lock in place on the smaller plates. But definitely recommend made the job easier.

I bought the tool to compress my 6 piston Brembo calipers. It takes a little getting used to, but a simple concept - slide the tool in with the pads still in the caliper, crank it in the correct position to spread the pads and compress the pistons. The problem is that if the plates on the tool are slightly off while you are cranking/spreading the pads, the retainer clip that holds the tool together pops off and the tool dismantles into three pieces Reassembling the part takes a minute and some needle nose pliers. It can get frustrating. I was able to complete the brake job after having the tool fail about 4 times during the job. Luckily, I don't have to use the tool often. If so, I would have to choose something more reliable. It may work better on a caliper that has a single sided piston(s).
