  • 【APPLICABILITY】For single, dual, and quad pistons, as well as single and dual piston floating calipers. Applies to disc brakes, not drum brakes.
  • 【CAREFUL DESIGN】the centrally located ratchet evenly distributes the force in a parallel manner, preventing misalignment of the piston.
  • 【360-DEGREE RATCHETING】The ratcheting technology on this caliper tool provides 360-degree oscillation, allowing you to pull the handle back and forth to open or retract the caliper tabs while keeping the compression tabs in place, which allows the spreader to be positioned anywhere.
  • 【EASY TO USE】The extended reversing lever can be easily switched from extended to retracted state. It comes with a padded handle for a comfortable and easy grip.
  • 【HIGH QUALITY】The brake caliper compression tool is made of high quality carbon steel with extreme hardness and long lasting durability, it's not easy to deform, it's a useful braking tool for automotive brake system parts replacement.

The brake caliper tool helps you quickly and easily compress and align the piston in place to make room for replacing thick brake pads. Our professional caliper press fits all disc caliper press ratchets, brake tools and brake cylinder adjustment sets. The perfect tool for most large trucks and commercial vehicles. Available for two and four piston fixed calipers as well as single and two piston floating calipers.

In my opinion, this tool is reminiscent of a Snap-On brand tool. It is VERY well-made, and it performed its intended task flawlessly. The ratcheted design moves smoothly and functions superbly. There were zero problems with maneuvering the product into small spaces, and it fit very well into the caliper, much like the brake pads themselves. Here is a small tip: BE SURE to LOOSEN THE CAP on your brake fluid reservoir BEFORE depressing any caliper plungers. Doing so will prevent any damage due to the back-pressure that results from depressing the plunger. No need to remove that cap --as doing such a thing might lead to an overflow and a mess-- just allow it to be loose enough for pressure to escape, which is ideal. Lastly, it's always a good idea to surround the brake fluid reservoir with rags or paper towel just in case of an overflow. It will save you tons of clean-up in the end; just be sure to remove all rags or towels when the job is complete, and DON'T FORGET to RE-TIGHTEN THE CAP as well as to CHECK YOUR FLUID LEVELS after pumping the brakes back to normal working status when all reassembly is completed.I cannot say enough great things about this excellent product. I have seen opinions complaining that it is "over-priced" and/or "not as good as a C-clamp", but in my opinion, one gets what one pays for, and there are many of these types of tools that are lower-priced, but also cheap junk. Additionally, C-clamps are okay, but they can depress a caliper plunger unevenly if used improperly, even causing damage to the caliper itself. This tool, however, is "idiot-proof", so take the advice of someone who knows, and just buy the thing. I know I would buy it again in a heartbeat!VERY highly recommended!.

We haven't had to change brakes just yet, so this review is based on observations this far. When the tool first arrived, it was stuck and not willing to compress. It took some jiggling/messing with it, to get it to break free. While it does seem to be made from quality materials, I'm not so sure it will stand the test of time. While it does function and have its purpose, I'm concerned if it will actually make install any easier. We will find out as soon as our area thaws enough to be in the garage. I will update if this tool does not meet or exceeds any expectations we have of it.

This does a decent job of compressing caliper pistons, but it looks just like other tools for sale on Amazon that are less than half the price and include accessories such as caliper hangers.

Love these things. Makes it so much easier changing out brake pads when needed. I've always used C-clamps to compress the pistons and its always a hassle. You spin both sides out further to get another bite, to get full compression. If they don't extend far enough just use a ship such as you're old pad(s). Nice ratchet feel with forward and reverse.

Unfortunately, this tool appeared used. It was very greasy and scratched. I am returning it.

Exactly what I needed, great tool for retracting basically any kind of caliper configuration you're likely to come across. Wish I had this earlier when I had to press back 4-pistons on a BMW. Sure, you could get creative and get any style pressed back in with normal tools, but why put yourself through the struggle when this exists? This will definitely put some further confidence and convenience in my future brake jobs.

Where has this been all my life? This is a great and easy to use tool that will replace using a block of wood and a C-clamp that we're all used to using on brake jobs. This easily compresses the caliper piston back in so you can install the new pads. The ratcheting mechanism is sturdy and the the handle is rubber coated for durability. Theres a metal switch on the ratchet to reverse directions. Makes life easy when doing brake jobs now. Great price for an easy one piece tool! I would recommend to any mechanic or shade tree mechanic.

This tool may work well on bigger vehicles, but not so well on cars. The parts that look like a pad are 4.5 inches long, so some car calipers may not have room for them. Collapsed these are 1.75 inches thick and expand out to only 3 inches which may not be enough movement for some, but you can add the old pads in to "shim" it out likely. So it can work, but depends on the vehicle parts size.
