The quality and design of this bread slicer (which also includes a knife) is far superior to other bread slicers. The only reason that I did not give five stars is because it would be better if there were more options for the width of the loaf bread. The loaf size and shape varies greatly among the many bread machine manufacturers.

Although I received my order quickly, this slicer was very disappointing. The wooden side peices are very thin and arrived broken in 3 pieces. I think that if it wasn't broken when I received it that it wouldn't have taken very long to break after use. I'm going with a slicer with thick plastic sides. Not as visually nice but should serve the purpose longer.

I ordered this slicer to make things "easier" while slicing fresh bread. While it is adjustable, the very first and only load of bread was still not fitting correctly in either size track. Trying to hold the bead in place so I could slice it was more trouble than it was worth. After slicing two pieces I was finding bamboo shavings on the counter! Let me just tell you I'm not a novice to cooking, I'm a graduate of culinary school. I'm in the kitchen all the time. Also it seemed the knife was to short to slice bread properly and had an odd smell to it. DO NOT waste your time ordering and having to return this. Look elsewhere or just slice it by hand, it may not be a perfect slice but it won't have bamboo shavings on it!!! Very disappointed.

I like the slicer on the whole, but there are some things to be aware of. 1. I had difficulty figuring out how to put it together, but once I had figured it out it is easy to assemble. 2. The crumb tray had one of the ends fall off, but my husband has fixed that. 3. The slices come out a little too thick. I would really have liked a thinner slice. On the plus side the ajustable rack is very sturdy and reconfigures easily to hold any size bread. I also like the way it folds into itself, making it easier to store and it even comes with its own storage bag!

Although the slicer looks great there are some flaws with cutting bread. We use a homemade bread maker and the loaves are thicker than a typical loaf. While attempting to slice the thicker loaves we find it very difficult to keep the knife aligned within the guide-slots. Store bought baguettes were easier to cut, but we were disappointed in the how it crushed our homemade and less dense bread.
