I can't speak to how it holds up over time, as we just installed this, but it seemed to do a great job holding polyethylene vapor barrier/insulation material up on a brick wall. The first strip we put in, most of it seemed to stick really well, except for one spot that was damp and another place where there was some dust or brick crumble. That was user error. You must make sure the surface is truly clean, dry, and sound. For subsequent strips, we brush-vacuumed the path where the tape was going to go before we put it up, and we had no problem. We worked carefully to put the tape on the wall and mush it in to all the dips and bumps, then came back the next day to hang the vapor barrier material. We lined up the material, temped it up with blue tape, and then pulled the backing of the butyl tape out from under and pressed it in. This seemed to work perfectly, and the seal seems very good. It showed no sign of budging.I believe that this tape is going to do its job and keep the vapor barrier sealed against the wall.Keep in mind when you are using this stuff, it is not really a tape but more like a strip of goo. Not a material with adhesive on it, rather just a ribbon of adhesive coiled up with a backing strip that somehow it doesn't stick to. Like silly putty, only it sticks to everything.

Not very glamorous to use when sticking plastic to brick in the crawlspace, but it stuck well. Used anchors to hold the plastic in place, this was just for the final air seal as I will run a radon fan under the plastic.

Used on a project to reseal a vent van in our vintage travel trailer. Works the same as butyl tape I've purchased from the major retailers. As with all butyl tape getting the temperature just right so its cool enough to be easy to handle and warm enough to squish properly under the flange of what ever your installing is key.

I used this in the process of weatherproofing my mom's camper a few months ago; mostly along edges of reflective insulation I put in windows. I very much believe it's helped seal things better, in regards to preventing wind from getting inside. This in combination with insulation and some weatherstripping goes a long way in keeping the inside warm.
