Vehicle: 2009 Cadillac CTS 3.6l RWD direct injectionThe camshaft retaining plates did the job correctly when installing the timing chains according to timing chain stages and procedures. For a DIY'er, I imagine it would be tough without these tools. Perhaps a dedicated mechanic can work without them. They are also useful for removing/installing the harmonic balancer to jam the crank from moving so I did not use the flywheel locking tool at all.The crankshaft setting tool did not fit. The inserting slot on the tool was different to where the harmonic balancer goes. I really did not need it though because you can switch from stage 1 to stage 2 by installing the harmonic balancer bolt back into the crank and turn it with your regular ratchet.I'm a DIY auto guy just trying to fix his own car. I just followed the websites service manual instructions, perhaps not in the same order, and the instructions were pretty clear. website: charm.li

Great product. I just realigned the timing on my 3.6l and it held everything properly and made the process very easy.

This kit works perfect on the 2.4. I had originally just bought the cam lock tool for the primary chain. It came with incorrect bolts and did not line up correctly. So I purchased the whole kit from this company and it was perfect. Ended up doing the primary and the secondary chain since I had the tools for it. Great buy for the price.

CAM sprocket locking tab bent immediately. Spend the extra $$$ and get one that is hard metal and stamped.

The camshaft holder worked perfectly to install/remove sprockets. The tensioner reset tool worked perfectly to reset the timing chain tensioner (it fully extends upon removal and requires a tool to retract it for installation). The flywheel holder is useless because it’s missing the base that bolts to the starter holes; it should be two pieces as seen in other Ecotec timing tool kits. I had to jam a screwdriver in the flywheel to tighten the crank bolt. I’m pretty disappointed about that because it was so close to being a great kit. No instructions or component listing so it’s up to the user to solve the mystery of what everything is. There are still a couple items I didn’t mention that I have no idea what they are for. 3 stars.

The tool worked great it came. It looked just like the picture. The order got here, and very short time I would buy from them again.
