Looks and works great. Definitely use Carbon8 brand cartridges

Have been trying to stay away from soda this was 100% the way to go works so efficiently and makes great sparkling water

I've only had it for a day so this review is more about my initial experience pertaining to the ordering, setup, and initial thoughts. On the ordering side of things...if you order this item "with" the CO2 canister Amazon is not getting it to you in two days time. Prime or not, it doesn't matter. The item for me at least shipped via UPS Ground taking a week from California. Makes sense because of the CO2 canister. Amazon may not allow the canister storage inside of their warehouses. They get a "ding" for telling me it's coming in two days via Prime. Moving on, the setup is pretty easy peasy. You basically plug the unit in to an outlet, rinse the water tank, install the mineral filter, and then screw in the CO2 cylinder. Press the button on top and make very tasty sparkling water! Water that tastes similar to commercial mineral waters such as Perrier, and San Pelligrino. It's good on its own without any flavoring. As for the bubbles, this unit is no different than any other water carbonator in the sense that colder water improves the mouthfeel of the bubbles. I've consumed much seltzer in my day and I can say that this unit produces quality water. A few things to be mindful of when purchasing the Carbon8. Like all other carbonators this thing is tall because of the CO2 tank size. Be mindful of its height clearance needed if you are placing it under a cabinet with trim. And yes, it appears that you could use any 60L CO2 canister as long as it has a screw in top. They suggest you use theirs in the manual, but on the box it states that it is compatible with other CO2 tanks etc. No surprise there. Also while the design and some photos would lend you believe that you are placing your glass on top of the drip tray while making water, it's not the case, you are going to have to hold you glass close to the spigot while making water. This will prevent the minimal splatter that can occur. Build quality seems excellent but BEWARE the unit only has a 90 day warranty. This maybe because it's a new company I hope? I purchased a 4year Amazon extended warranty which adds to the overall cost. This unit also is not covered under the "all-in" Amazon policy!! So another "ding" here. And finally, for me the thought of filling a plastic water bottle (that has an expiration date) with seltzer really didn't make much sense. I mean ultimately you are going to be throwing a plastic bottle out once again. This aside from the bulk and cleaning. This concept made better sense to me. I am also waiting on a clarification from the company on how often the mineral filter needs to be changed and, if it is recommended that you do not keep water in the tank to prolong the filters life. For me, because I use a Kinetico Reverse Osmosis system for my drinking water it makes sense to add the minerals back into the water for taste purposes. You might decide that you don't need it. I'd also like to see the filters available on Amazon Subscriptions.

I like that it has a sleek design, doesn't require a special container for drinks, an has water purification filter w uv. I don't like that my drinks seemed flat compared to my old machine. My old machine didn't use co2, but used a mix of baking soda and citric acid so it was less expensive. I also was able to choose the level of carbonation on the old machine. This one has 1 level of carbonation and its between flat and fizzy

It does exactly as it promises. The best results are achieved with a mixture of ice and water in the tank.

I love sparkling water, but buying cans is such a waste and I'm not a fan of other systems that require you to make bottles at a time. I just wanted a machine that could dispense a single glass of perfect sparkling water whenever I wanted it. And I found it with the Carbon8. It's amazing! It dispenses as much or as little sparkling water as you need, exactly when you need it, whether it be a single glass for yourself, or whether you are making italian sodas for a party. I also love that it's pretty tall, so that I can dispense carbonated water into a pitcher or carafe.

We’ve had our new machine for about a week and really like it. I use to buy sparkling water all the time but this makes delicious water for so much less money.
