Each lens in the TV-36 contains a roughly 3x magnification (rounded to the nearest half power). Combine two lenses together to make 5.5x power magnification, or three to make 8.5x power. this is a great magnifier pure and simple. With the ability to choose from 5X, 10X or 15X magnification it has versatility single lens mags don't. The housing is a solid strong plastic only open on the side that the lens close into. The same hard plastic wraps the lenses. THe view clarity is good. Of course as with any magnification tool you need to have enough light to go through unless it comes with a built in light. But, if that's not a concern and you need a solid good power magnifier or are visually impaired like me. This is definitely a good buy for the price. I easily would have been willing to pay $20 for this and it cost me a fraction of that.If you're visually impaired like me I'll be trying other products found on here I already have another review up on a different magnifier that you're welcome to read. I'll be posting reviews on magnifiers and a monocular or 2 for distance help.

Good tool. Instructions would be helpful. Simply the lenses magnifying power are increased by adding more lenses. One lens equals 5x two lenses equals 10x and three lenses equals 15x. The limiting consideration is the size of the effective field of view.

With my eyesight, I always keep magnifying glasses handy and own several, including 3 made by Carson. I like the Carson the best. They work great and at a very fair price.

Its not what I needed so I can't use it but if you want to do very close up highly magnified views it's good. The depth of focus is very short so you have to hold it less than an inch away from the object and have your face very close to the glass so it's not practical for a lot of uses. But good if you can have your eye and the glass and the object all within a couple inches of each other. please note it's also a very small glass as well

Fijne compacte loep. De lenzen zijn bepaald niet te klein en netjes geslepen. Houd de loep dicht bij het oog, en breng het voorwerp naar je toe tot het scherp lijkt.Bij 5x is de loep erg comfortabel door de ruime werkafstand. Bij 10x is de werkafstand kleiner maar het vinden van de scherpte is nog steeds goed te doen.Bij 15x wordt de werkafstand nog kleiner waardoor het onderwerp weliswaar lekker groot lijkt, maar donkerder wordt omdat je er pal op zit en dus veel licht tegen houdt. Alle sterke loepen hebben dit probleem: hoe sterker de vergroting, des te korter de ruimte tussen lens en voorwerp en des te donkerder het beeld. Bij toenemende vergroting luistert ook het vinden van de scherpte steeds nauwer.Mijn conclusie: erg goed bij 5x en goed bij 10x. Voor 15x heb je eigenlijk extra licht nodig.
