First impressions when I took it out of the package is that it was very nice and classic made - leather is very soft and subtle and I believe it will work for a variety of different medium size knives that I own - I have always just stuck knives like this with no pocket clip into my pocket with no worries but seems often I find myself looking around the house for where I misplaced my knife only to find that it had slipped out while sitting in my chair or couch - never thought I would be a sheath guy but this one is small, light and you barley notice that you have it on your belt - for the peace of mind of not having to worry about losing my knife while out in public where it will be gone forever is worth it to me - also, I now can free up a bit more precious room in my front pocket for other uses - the Case Sodbuster is the knife shown that I carry in it now - they are around 3.5 inches long and fits great - being a fatter/wider knife it works well and can unbutton and grab with ease - I tried putting the Case Copperlock in it as well ... it’s about the same length as the Sodbuster and it will work ok - that knife is a little slimmer so it sinks into the sheath a bit more than the SB and the tip shows just above the top of the sheath and it’s a little slicker to grab onto and definitely takes a bit more effort to get it out - so it should be fine for 3.5” knives though some will work better than others - most others up to around 4” should fit great ... but again it all depends on the width - overall it’s a great little sheath for the money - time will tell how it holds up but I imagine it will age like a great leather wallet over time - I hope they make one like this in black someday

Great little sheath for my muskrat, I applied mink oil first then put my knife in and it molded nicely.

I have 3 of these now, it isnt large or wide... but the Buck 112 is a perfect fit. I soaked it in warm water and run the blade side down the seam then dried it under a fan and it molded the leather perfectly...even got a nice little thump when it seats all the way in now...When I say it fits perfect I mean its like a factory fit. Its sweet. I also have a 4 inch flipper that I did the same with. the knobby on the blade needs to be run in on the seam side and it was bit more work but the warm water did its job and it holds super snug with the clip. Its my EDC. The two are my EDC's its nice to get weight and bulk out of my pocket and its a really cool fit on the belt right in front, Forget its even there...

Nice, quality sheath. It's generically shaped though and, despite the title, is not specifically for the Case Trapper. The trapper fits in the sheath, but rattles around loosely.

Useful product but a little too big for the elk ridge trapper knife.

This is a good sheath for the trapper (and other medium sized) variety of Case blades. The suede is soft and forms to each knife nicely, the snap is crisp and easy to open. The belt loop is wide enough for a real belt, and not just a 1" suit belt. The major flaw is there is no liner behind the snap. On other knife sheaths this wouldn't matter much, but you buy a closed sheath of this size, to transport your good trappers/stockmans/russlocks... and they all have such nice one-of-a-kind scales and shields. Pushing on the snap to close the sheath, and yanking on it to open... rubs against the scales (or bolsters, depending on the knife), and leaves small nicks. Over time, it will ruin your knife.A Bummer, because that's the antithesis of it's function. But it's an easy fix, a piece of thin rubber matte, or felt, glued to the inside of the sheath.... and presto! All better. It's not a fatal flaw, but head this warning, and you'll not have to ruin the collectibility of your favorite knife to find that out!I bought two, and they get used daily (one at a time of course), holding my Bose Sowbelly Stockman with Ebony scales, and my Russlock with sambar stag, respectively. I used a felt disc to cover the inside of the snap, and it actually helps with the tension to hold the knife in place and prevent it from jiggling. Good buy, but READ THIS FIRST!

Bought this for my dad's 50 year old German made carbon steel jackknife 3 and3/4 inches folded. It fits snugly , but there is room for at least a 4" knife and still be able to snap shut. The craftsmanship is excellent and I love that it is soft leather rather than a hard case. It is perfect my use.
