This arrived folded flat into a flip top plastic sleeve and had a faint odor once removed. I let it air out for a few days and the smell dissipated. My cat had an appointment to be fixed and I knew she'd need one of these so I grabbed this one thinking it would work well for us. Unfortunately, my cat is some sort of magician who can get out of any collar and even the vet said that they couldn't keep this type on her so that I should just switch to a body suit. As a result, I can say that this is very cute and seems like it would work ok, but I can't speak to it's actual use on a cat.

We had to have one of our cats eyes removed, the collar worked great and was comfortable for the cat.

Ordered this bc it was well past time to get my male cat neutered..... it was instructed to have this stay on for a solid 7 days..... my escape artist made light work of his mini head prison and was out of it in less than an hour of being home. As far as cones go I think this was the better of the 2 options I tried for him ... he just was having absolutely NONE of it ...

I'm searching for a cone or collar to prevent my cat from scratching a wound on his neck and chin. This does work, but it really obstructs his ability to eat and go to the litter box. Folding the top down does help, but it doesn't really stay folded - it could benefit from a snap button or two. It also holds onto water if it gets wet, which isn't ideal. But it is soft and has both velcro and a slide button to tighten, which makes it much easier to get on and off compared to other collars.

I ordered this for our kitten who was supposed to be neutered last month. Due to the weather, we had to reschedule his procedure for this month and I'm not sure it will fit him anymore but it did last month and it is well made and light weight. I like that it can be folded for easier eating and the velcro sticks well. I will probably end up giving it to the local shelter for smaller kittens who will need a cone. Definitely measure your cat's neck and make sure there is room to grow if you are scheduling a surgery while they are in the midst of their kitten growth spurts.
