I expected a normal scratcher for a cat, but this product was wao and valuable and my cat felt fancy cat. The product is big, strong stable, and easy to assemble.

Edit Sept 2, 2024: One year later this post is starting to show wear and a lot of fuzzies. Please do not take this as a complaint because this post has lasted 9 months longer than any post I have EVER bought for my cat. The top ball on the string my cat pulled off months ago but the one on the spring remains. The post itself is still incredible strong and shows no sign of decay. Only thing that is failing is the carpet around it due to one year of daily abuse and scratching from my cat. This is an absolute win in my book. So it has come time to order a new one and guess what I am choosing? That's right, this one! In fact I am gonna get two just in case this one becomes unavailable.Original review:It is so hard to find carpet scratching posts now-a-days. Sissle rope seams to be all the rage. Well my cat is picky and likes carpet. I knew how tall this was gonna be but was surprised by the diameter. Holy cow this thing was huge! But it was also a HUGE hit with the picky cat. Its wide enough she can easily get her paws comfortably on it and its tall enough that she can stretch and scratch where she wants. She also loves to climb it and sit atop of it and survey her kingdom! I've had it 5 months now it has lasted so far! This has been great and well received by a picky cat!

My cat LOVES this scratcher! He has never liked using the cardboard scratchers and he has always been particular to carpeted ones. We had a different carpet material one before this but it was half the height so he still didn’t use it at often since he couldn’t stretch out. This one is half the cost, double the height and very sturdy! The carpet is soft and enticing to him! He loves playing with the little toys that you attach to it and he loves climbing to sit on the top. We will definitely be purchasing again once this one gets too worn out!

This tree was great and my cat loved it, but the base is made of rather flimsy board. It held up for a while, but with all of his jumping around it finally snapped. Otherwise, five stars.

This scratching post is awesome! It is so tall and has a nice sturdy base. My cat loves it. It is big enough that he not only can stretch all the way up scratching but he can also wrap himself around it and he pulls himself around like a wheel. It’s far more interactive than just the scratching post for him. We did install the dangle ball in the middle not the top like shown on directions.

I was pleasantly surprised of how big this scratch post is. I do believe it will work out perfect for my 14 lb cat. I showed him and he immediately started scratching on it so that's a good sign. Very easy to put together straightforward instructions. It is very tall and the diameter is very big. For the price I believe I got a good product. I recommend this to anybody with a bigger cat

Was easy to put together but I suggest making two modifications: 1) use the longer 4†threaded pipe in the middle and the shorter 3†one at the top to give it more stability (the direction state the opposite), 2) put padded felt tabs on the bottom because the bolt and washer are not inset into the base and it looks like it’s a prime setup for scratching my wood floor without them.My 15 lb Maine Coon started scratching on it even before it was put together. He is not a fan of sisal rope so I am happy this is carpeted. He is also long so the height of this allows him to get a good stretch. The base isn’t particular heavy but it seems to be big enough to kee the post upright. He has some vigorous scratch sessions and it’s holding up well. I didn’t bother attaching the little toys that come with it but there is one he likes to play with on its own so that was a bonus.Edit: one year later. My cat continues to love this. The carpet on the bottom part remained perfect but the top part split and definitely showed wear after one year. He is long so the top part gets the workout. We just replaced the carpet and it was good to go.This is tall and sturdy enough for him to climb on and hang from for a while. He also runs and jumps on it and it does not fall over with his weight.I’m increasing my original rating of 4 stars to 5 because I want a scratch for another room and at this price it just makes sense to buy this again.

Great height, fairly stable, and my kitty now prefers this post over all of the others. However, this is the 2nd one I purchased this year. The 1st one lasted only 7 months. The matting isn’t glued down onto the cardboard, and large holes exposed the cardboard core as it gets pulled off. Tufts come off, and get caught in her claws, and I worry that she might ingest the stuff by accident. I vacuum the thing to pull off loose pieces. I rotated the post pieces to prolong the life of the first post, but I finally had no choice but to replace it. So it is NOT durable, and financially, though it is affordable at the outset, in the long run it will become rather expensive.

My Bengal won’t use the sisal scratching posts that I have so this is a lifesaver.
