I love it, it reduced the number of wires needed to move our sound system from 12 to 3. Also because they were Sheilded Cat 5e cables they were lighter ass well, making them easier to handle. Caution if you make your own cables make sure they test out as sheilded, unshielded cables do not work. With the right cables the sound quality the comes out of these connectors is excellent. I would definitely purchase again. They worked as stated and made our system better.

It does what a passive connector panel should do, but $250 is way too expensive. They can charge this because nobody makes a similar product... yet.

There seems to be no standard for writing these devices. I use this rack kit with some Lynx products. Ch1 & 4 are "correct" except Ch1 is out of phase. Ch 2 & 3 are "crossed".I had to make an adapter to fix Ch1's phase (by crossing pins 2 & 3 in the XLR connector. The attached photo shows the 3 right angle adapters plugged into channels A1, B1, and C1.

I install this in my rack. I have several Lyx cat xlr boxes. The wiring didn't match. In the first four xlr jacks. Only 2 of the four matched. I determine this with a cable tester. When I say they didn't match I'm talking about pin 1 2 and 3

Using to send AES and coms back and forth to our video room over CAT5e, zero issues. Great box, well made and worth every penny, looking forward to using more of them in the future.

Great design! It was plug and play, no need to figure anything out. It just works and is reliable!

"Ethercon" is NOT what it implies and has NOTHING to do with Ethernet or digital audio transmission. It is a PASSIVE cabling system that uses RJ-45 network cable to carry ANALOG audio signals over twisted-pair wires. In addition to its flimsy connectors, it shorts the neutral pins of all four balanced audio signals to the outer cable shield, an open invitation to ground loops among the four audio sources. With this 12-channel patchbay, you need to run three separate RJ-45 cables between the $250 passive patchbay to ANOTHER $250 patchbay. By the time you're done, you've spent over $600 on a make-shift substitute for a 12-channel audio snake with individually isolated 3-pin connectors.
