My Gemini CDX-2250 CD player needs to be repaired about once every 18 months, as I put it to a lot of use as a DJ, and it gets a bumpy ride in my trailer to and from events. I used to order the entire tray/CD unit from Gemini, but it was getting really expensive, so I thought I would try this instead. I'm so thankful I did! This replacement was a perfect match and worked perfectly. I played the CD all the way through to make sure it would play the songs at the end. Perfect. This is about $65 less than buying the whole replacement unit/tray, so I'd highly recommend if only the laser assembly has gone bad. I'm super happy, ordered two more to keep in reserve, and I'm stoked to see what kind of longevity it will have. Good luck to all those DJs out there who still like using their DJ CD players to keep the party rockin. This has 16 pins for your ribbon cable. Some have 15 pins, so make sure you order the right one. You will need a de-soldering iron to de-solder the solder blob that acts as a ground.

I was surprised that this could be purchased for such a low price. Fixed a "pro DJ" unit that had stopped reading one of the dual decks. Works great, and seems to be a great unit at a great price.

My Denon CD player stopped reading disks. The problem seemed to be the laser was no longer able to read disks. I searched around for quite a while before finding this as there was no product number on the Denon disk laser. I received the package in good condition, an it looks exactly like the original part I pulled out of the player. You do have to be sure the contact on your player has the same amount as this one, I guess there are two versions of this assembly. Also you need to unsolder the contact on the controller board before you install it, which will take some knowledge of electronics. All in all a great fix and much cheaper than buying a new player.
