The Splatter screens arrived quickly and in good condition. They measure 11 3/4" (not 12") across. The pans for which I ordered them, measure 11 1/4" across the top. They fit like a lid. Each screen has a top and bottom. The bottom of the screen with the metal rim sits over the pan like a lid, and the top of the screen is flush. The metal rim that holds the screen and handle together can get hot, so a pot holder is recommended. The screen allows the steam to escape and stops grease splatters.

If it was a bit sturdier I'd like it better. But the price is inexpensive so ya know what you're getting.

My mom had one when I was younger and I didn’t pay much attention until I got a new oven/cooktop. I like everything to stay nice so I use it regularly.

In a pinch, works fine. I didn't expect much for $5 but yea... it's pretty cheap.If it lasts 6 months I'd be happy to buy another for $5. we shall see.
