It slices strawberries (or anything really) beautifully, with no crushing.Be careful, it's quite sharp.You get evenly sliced strawberries. I've found that the appearance of the slices varies if I rotate the fruit position. Works great on boiled egg pieces (not whole ones) .I wish it was larger so I could slice other things, but it's perfectly sized for strawberries. Doesn't take up a lot of space and is easy to clean. I just rinse it in the sink. Haven't tried it in the dishwasher.If it starts to dull, you even have access to take a diamond file to the edges of the blades! (rinse before cutting again you don't want to ingest the filings)Great gadget. I'm probably going to get a dehydrator now.. Strawberry chips... Peach chips... Woo Hoo!

I used the handle held slicer for strawberries. It was easy to use and clean. The build and quality is good as if has not fell apart so far. Size is perfect not too big or too small. It does take time to get through a batch of strawberries so not the quickest option. But all in all the design works and gets the job done.

Every time we use this (maybe several times a month) we are really happy that we found it and how well it works. We had been using a slicer with wires for strawberries, and this works so much better and feels a lot sturdier. I don't know what else we would use it for, but it has saved us a bunch of effort. It does take up a lot of space in the kitchen gadget drawer, but we have plenty of space so it isn't a big deal for us.

Pros: Love the clip to secure when not in useCons: 1) cuts wider slices than previous device 2) holds water like crazy when placed in dish-washer 3) occasionally 'flings' berry slices beyond targetOverall, it does what it says it will do which is slice berries. The brand I previously owned was the ideal but after a few years of service gave up. One other positive aspect of this slicer is that it is designed better than my previous device. The 'jaw' uses a double action hinge which effectively reduces the effort to slice. It's probably also why it flings berry slices from time to time.

This is a very good time saver. The only thing I'd have it do better is to have it easier to clean. But that's not a major problem.

I have a yellow plastic banana slicer that I used to multitask as a strawberry slicer. It was great with bananas - not so much with the harder strawberries. This device slices through strawberries "like butter". The OCD part of me wishes the instructions or the Amazon ad would provide hints on the best orientation of the strawberry for optimal slicing without squishing. It does not seem to matter with normal size strawberries, but during the prime growing season the tray from the grocery store usually includes some "big mommas" that are slightly overripe and tend to get squished against the front red lip of the slicer. I deal with this by starting the slice, then release the handle and push the berry back into the slicer's maw, and resume the slice.

... aber die Erdbeeren sind schön gleich geschnitten. Allerdings klappt es auch nur mit kleineren Früchten, ansonsten stehen sie über und sind nicht richtig geschnitten am Rand. Kann man kaufen, aber ein Eierschneider macht das selbe :-) und man muss nicht auf die Größe achten.

Love this strawberry slicer. We had one before but the plastic broke and it was not very ergonomic to use. This one is easy slices up strawberries quickly and is very simple to clean absolutely perfect for when we make our strawberry waffles
