Sharp and the shaft was straight. I mounted this in a palm router and it is chewing an end grain cutting board nice and flat! So far has cut through Zebra wood, Purpleheart, Padauk and Okoume with no problems.

I was able to plane three sides of an eight foot by ~7" wide railroad tie with this bit, my router and a router sled/jig I made. Honestly, I thought I was going to wear this bit out because it's a really hard piece of oak. This was my first time to plane anything and this bit and setup worked perfectly. Can't believe it. Also - couldn't find a surfacing router bit at my home depot, so I am glad I was able to find this at Amazon. I would buy this again if I needed it. Mine still works fine, so I will use it in the future should the need arise.

The bit is a good one for the price but there are 2 main issues. I have been using it on a CNC router and first major thing is that I dear not plunge it into the surface. Due to the smooth moddle section it can only plunge 1mm to 2mm for the most ( am sure its less than 2). But I still enjoy using it within the limits. On to the second issue I am observing that the blade will dullen fast. Hasn't as yet but I see it coming. I hope I can give it a little touch up after the fact but yes thats my observations. Still like my little bit within the limits, I may even be using it for the wrong reason, to plain small surfaces) but it is working.

I was a bit worried that this wouldn't work very well because it was less expensive than other bits. It did a beautiful job on my Sain 4030 leaving no tramming lines and a sanded like finish. Maybe it will not last for 50 uses but I don't tram the spoilboard that often and it is a lot more cost effective to order another one if this one fails. If it fails by doing a poor job it is easy enough to get another one and go from there.

Helps flatten my spoilboard or helps flatten any material before getting carved. You want your material to be completely flat and parallel to your Z-axis. I'll probably upgrade to a wider bit, but this one did the job and the results were great! I definitely recommend.

Product shipped quick, got the job done. However it quickly dulled and started burning my mdf spoilboard. 25"ipm at 0.02" depth of cut in mdf resulted in the bit smoking out. I'm new to cnc so it may have been user error, but I'm a long time carpenter and thought what I was doing was reasonable for the machine I was using.

Created a flattening table and used this bit. Worked with ease on a huge maple slab with epoxy poured in certain areas. Did the job with ease and still working it without issue.

I am a hobbyist woodworker operating from garage. I do not have a jointer and planer since these are expensive tools. I saw a you tube video on making a simple jig and with the use of a router and this surfacing bit, I was able to plane the surface for my projects. So far so good and happy to recommend this bit to others.

But if it is for a large project, consider a larger size.
