This was lifesaver. It took my hot water tank guy almost a month to figure out that this what the problem was even after consulting another heating and cooling companies. This part is a safety device that does not come on all hot water tanks. After he figured out what it was we tried to order it from the hot water tank company but it was out of out of stock. In December this not what I wanted to find out but Amazon had it to me in a few days!!! AMAZON 💪...ðŸ˜

Overnight delivery and this purchase allowed me to have a hot shower again. Thank you. Part fit perfect, exact replica of the old broken one I pulled. Never knew about these parts until mine tripped, but was grateful I could locate a replacement.Double checked the vent to make sure airflow was proper and nothing was impeding flow and no buildup. Vacuumed out air intake vents and inside burner compartment, cleaned the little bit of char on the burner, swapped out a new thermocouple, and installed this part which was the most crucial. Never knew they existed but really smart concept.Hopefully I fixed the problem with why it overheated, and I don't even have to test if this new glass bulb shatters at the proper temp, but looks legit. If it does shatter again I'd say this part is doing its job and the water heater overheating is to blame, not this part.

My water heater recently went out, and I really didn't have a spare thousand-plus laying around to get a new one. After pulling it apart to try to find the problem, I discovered that the shutoff device in the old one had blown at some point. The manufacturer no longer makes the device for my heater, but this one was compatible. It is a bit fragile, so be careful. I broke a little off of the thin tip trying to get it installed, but not enough to hamper the function of the device. It fit and worked perfectly in my Rheem, and I'm enjoying hot showers again.

Needed this part for a Rheem water heater that was under warranty on a Friday. Rheem said I wouldn't have the replacement until Tuesday. I ordered this and had it installed on Saturday before noon. Saved me 3 days without hot water.
