I purchased this product to remove the anode on my Dometic RV waterheater. While fit was good as soon as I applied pressure it cracked and was unusable as indicated in photo. If you remove your water heater anode annually before corrosion occurs this product might be adequate but if you are like most of us and only take it out every few years (or longer) I recommend a purchasing a sturdier/thicker metal wrench or a socket.I measured the metal thickness and it was only 1.5mm while other wrenches on Amazon at a similar price were 2mm.Thanks to Amazon my money was refunded and I decided to not take any chances and ordered "A.I.FORCE RV Water Heater Element Socket Wrench, 1-1/16 Inch Socket for 3/4" NPT Thread Magnesium Rods on RV, Camper Travel or Trailers, 6-Point with 1/2 Inch Socket Drive" knowing it would be much stronger than a 1.5mm or 2mm wrench. I selected this brand just because it had the most reviews. Most of the sockets on Amazon for this purpose were similarly priced, within $1, and the only downside I can see of a socket vs a wrench is that the wrench has two different sizes, one on each end. However this is of no value if the tool is not strong enough to get the job done.

Couldn't get any other tool into hole to remove element. Simple tool for single purpose, but it's way cheaper than a new water heater or paying a plumber to install a new element.

What more can you ask of a tool? It removes the anode rod to hot water heater effectively.

Skip the expensive tools and buy this. I have a suburban water heater and needed to change the anode rod. I was not thrilled to have to spend money on a socket tool that I would probably only use a few times in life. So just for grins, I searched anode rod tool on Amazon and BAM, this tool popped up. Yes! It’s affordable and does the job perfectly. You just use a screwdriver to turn the tool ( see my picture illustration ) and your all set. Ps. Always remember to open your temperature and pressure relief valve first before loosening the anode rod. Trust me, it can be dangerous if you don’t. I highly recommend this tool.
