We have a pull down ladder that leads to the attic area but didn't have a surefire way of pulling down the ladder. I'm a short guy and have a hard time finding a way to pull it down until I found this. A nice pole that is long enough to reach the latch with a hook built onto it. It also come with the hardware you need to adapt the pull down ladder if you are just using a string that may break at a bad time. It's worth spending the money to get this so you can have it on hand, just incase you need to get in the attic.

This product is exactly as described, reaches my 8’ ceiling with room to spare. Looks great! Much better than a rope hanging down from stair case.

I pulled down the attic steps and the string broke. So I chose to replace with this. Works perfectly and I don't need to worry about the string breaking. I did add another nut to the end because the one it came with, I didn't have confidence in. But I had the extra nut laying around so it was easy.
