This product is super easy to use, and working in retail especially during the holidays gives you a little peace of mind with all the counterfeit bills that are going around.

Pros: can be left on all day and once you put a bill inside, the black light comes right on for easy detectionCons: black light could be a bit stronger, but it still gets the job done.there has been a huge flood of counterfeit bills in circulation recently. this really helps with detection.

It is effortless to use and works as shown/as described. I have decided to sell some antiques and furniture pieces I inherited. Unfortunately, while selling other things online makes for quick and straightforward transactions, heavier and delicate objects are too costly and risky (respectively) to ship. For such items, the vast majority wish to meet or pick them up in person. As I do not run a business where I process digital transactions, cash is the preferred option (for both myself and the buyers). The only thing that has made me hesitate is the risk of counterfeit currency. While a pen could be an option, I felt it would make others too uncomfortable (and make me feel odd). This machine lets me quickly place the bills inside and check for authenticity. You can rapidly switch between security thread detection and watermark verification at the touch of a button. And if there are multiple bills of different amounts, the detection is automatic (i.e., there is no need to press the button continuously). A guide in the unit's interior coincides with the color of the security thread of different denominations.Portability is excellent as the detector is only large enough to fit and do what it needs to without any extras. It also works well in bright and low lighting. The one minor (very minor) issue I have is in the product's description, which states in the main heading, "for All Currencies, Passports, Gov't Issued IDs, [and] Credit Cards." Yet, there are no instructions on using the detector for anything other than currency, and there is no mention of it beyond the company's Amazon narrative. However, because it works for what I need it for and it works well, I am not deducting any stars from my rating for the lack of features. I do not need to check any of those other items. The price point is suitable for the quality. I am happy to have it.

Bought this to use during outdoor vending events. It worked when tested at home but not at all when we tried to use it at an outdoor event. Thinking maybe it's not for outdoor use.
