  • SET OF FOUR (4X) - TAOT CUSTOM 525K LONG Split Audio Taper Potentiometers Pots. Custom Manufactured for The Art Of Tone (TAOT) by CTS
  • 5% Tolerance - All Pots Meter between 500K-550K
  • High Quality Brass Bushing & Brass C-clip reinforced Shaft
  • 3/4" Bushing Height - Hardware includes second hex nut for proper mounting
  • PLEASE NOTE! 1). Not suitable for import guitars. 2). A long shaft pot is not a drop in fit. You need to use the second hex nut to set the height of the shaft through the body.

We are pleased to offer our own custom branded pots manufactured by CTS to our specifications. These are identical in construction to CTS high quality 450G series pots, but with a slightly higher resistance level specified at 525K. This means no exceptionally low or high resistance pots that can be found when using typical 20% tolerance 500K pots. At 5 percent tolerance all pots are guaranteed to measure between 500K to 550K resistance. The only thing that might make these pots better is if they came with bacon. PRODUCT SPECIFICATIONS - 525K Ohms/5% Tolerance (Value can range from 500K to 525K) Audio Taper Bakelite base plate Solid brass c-clip reinforced shaft Solid brass bushing 3/8-32 US thread 3/4" (long shaft) bushing height Split, fine 24-tooth knurled shaft 1/4" diameter shaft Each pot comes with hardware - two nuts, dress washer and lock washer Requires 3/8 inch diameter mounting hole. Pot is manufactured and branded by CTS specifically for The Art Of Tone (TAOT), Part # 450S525KXL TAOT. SOME THINGS TO CONSIDER: 1. If you are uncertain whether your guitar uses short (3/8 inch) or long (3/4 inch) shaft pots, as a general rule this pot will fit most USA-made Gibson Les Pauls manufactured after 1977 excluding historic reissues, but please double check before you order. 2. Make sure to pinch the tip of the shaft before you try fitting a knob, this will avoid getting knobs stuck before you install the pot. If you've ever had that happen... 3. If you have an import guitar it is probably using metric sized components and these pots cannot be used without modifying the openings on your guitar.

I’ve bought a few sets of these over the years and really like them. It might be mostly in my head but it feels like they’re a little extra brighter than regular 500 CTS pots. If nothing else the tolerances are tighter so you know you’re getting what you want without having to measure every pot.

Great quality pots. All four pots read over 500k on my multimeter.

TOAT has the best CTS pots for Les Pauls with humbuckers and P90s! The 525k audio taper and 5% tolerance ensures all pots read at least 500k just like vintage Gibsons. These are a must for 50s wiring. I replace all my stock Gibson pots with these. Nice smooth action with good turning resistance. These are not loose free turning pots. Excellent value and excellent quality from an excellent seller!

These pots are very smooth, they soulder very well, and they are good value for the money. They are a bit fragile though. When you install them make sure the tabs that hold the back cover on are pinched down tightly, and consider soldering a couple tabs down to keep them from coming apart when you tighten them.

These guys need to be your first stop for pots, probably your first stop for anything they sell. Great product and great customer service, really great. Clear, concise answers to your questions as well as answering all of your questions within an email.I don't know why other company's struggle with this but it was refreshing to find a business that provides quality and service, thank you Art of Tone.

They were larger than I expected but they did fit in the cavity of the guitar body I did have to drill the holes in the body larger but that wasn't hard to do. I'm pleased with him

Pleasantly surprised when I got my pots. Ordered for a Les Paul and pots measure perfectly. 2 measure 520 and the other 2 measure 534. Not sure if I got lucky, but I’ll take it. All work perfect and nicely taper to 0. Every time I’ve ordered pots from others, they are all over the place and always well below 500. Next time I need pots, I’m 100% ordering these TAOT CTS pots!!

Muy buenos pots, tienen los valores que dicen tener. Puedes tener un control muy amplio del volumen o tono. Recomiendo ampliamente estos pots. El único detalle es que venían más grandes de lo que pensaba.

I’m glad I bought the four, two at 220k, one at 230 and one at 240. Used the two 220 in a project the others will be kept as spares

I’ve purchased a set of these previously to rewire a Les Paul copy. They were brilliant and a great upgrade (5 stars). I am an experienced guitar tech and am very careful when it comes to installing electrical components. The last order found a defective pot (cutting out at “10” and with noise). I asked for a replacement but was told that I had to return the full set. I wasn’t about to uninstall and undo all of the work done to that point. I purchased a new Gibson 500k pot from L&M to finish the job. My advice would be to check the output on the sweep of the pots, not just the outer lugs before installation. I’ve learned my lesson the hard way.

Nice pots with a smooth predictable action, however I, like others, received a pot that wasn't working correctly straight out the packet. When measured with a Fluke DMM this pot would measure 523k at one end, 80k in the middle, and around 250k at the other end of the sweep. A test install with crocodile clips confirmed this - full volume, then low volume, then half volume on the sweep. I binned it and replaced it with a Bourns I had.The other 3 were 100% and tested within specs. So, not bad because I have a workaround, but they need to up their QC before these are shipped.
