I first installed this string with the loop adapter and still had some shrill e string sound. Later changed it to just using the ball end. This finally removed the shrill sound.

I've never used D'Addario violin strings before. This wound E-string complements my gut strings perfectly. I tried a pure gut E-string, hated it, and decided to try Kaplan instead. It sounds perfect and feels very nice under my fingers. Very nice, mellow tone. Way better than even coated E-strings on my violin.

I was worried that I was doing something wrong when my E string kept "whistling" or squeaking, so I was very glad to learn it was a problem with the instrument and the string, not with me! But this string has fixed the problem, which is a huge relief. It has a very bright sound too.

We use this with a set of Eva Prazi Gold and have never had any problems. The combination of this brings out the full potential of my daughter's violin. I highly recommend this e string on any violin to help it sing.

Violin strings can make an enormous difference in the tone and color of the instrument you are playing, whether you are using a beginner violin or a more well made instrument. If you have been used to a steel string E, I highly recommend that you switch to a string like this one. It takes the shrill tone and squeak out of your playing, so you can work on your bowing without having to fight your violin.This is a good string for the price, and you might want to look at s full set. Good strings are very important, and the normal steel E string can give your playing a harsh sound, especially if you, like me, are working to improve your technique. This non whistling E string can give you a more beautiful sound as you work on your bowing, which is ultimately the best way to avoid the “squeak†of the E string. I have an excellent Desarey violin which has a lovely mellow rich tone and I am doing my best to play it the way it deserves. I played professionally years ago, until my health forced me to quit. I am regaining my skills, but slowly. I can use all the help I can get. I like this string very much.

I recently handed my violin down to my daughter, and one of the first things she noted was the E string not sounding properly sometimes. I looked it up and discovered the "whistling E string" phenomenon. So I replaced my old string with this one, and she said the problem has resolved, so this string really works to address this issue! Wish I had known about it when I was playing...

Never would have thought one string would make such a difference. My daughter got a new violin and for whatever reason the E-string whistled horribly. The first piece she's playing on the new violin has a complex chord at the beginning of the piece, three actually, and she knew what it was supposed to sound like because she started the piece on her 3/4 size violin. Moving up to the 4/4 size the E-string made it sound horrible. I'm sure the luthier put on nice strings, but this D'Addario Kaplan Non-Whistling E has made a HUGE difference.If you're experiencing an E-string whistling issue give this string a try. I was skeptical because we had always purchased the higher-end strings in a full set. But we will be using this for the E-string based on the recommendation of my daughter's violin teacher and the excellent results we've personally experienced.

Da quando le ho provate non smetto di usarle, soprattutto quando suono Bach. Oltre ad avere un buon punto di contatto che sicuramente è fondamentale per non avere l'effetto sgradevole del fischio, è importante avere anche una corda che ti può salvare ogni tanto da piccoli incidenti.
