The retainer ring is too large and allows tool to slip off of pulley. This thing is junk. I ended up wrapping electrical tape around the dies to take up the gap between them and the retaining ring. In hind sight you could probably get this to work by securing them with a heavy duty hose clamp instead but i would rather have a tool that works as it should instead of rigging something up and destroying a pulley in the process.

If you're a hobbyist and need a puller to use once maybe twice then you cant beat the price. If you're a mechanic that needs more then a few uses then buy a better one from OTC or the tool truck. I used this tool last night on some rusty alternator pulleys and it did the job but you can see the threads are already half gone with one use. I could see that in a few more uses the tools threads will be stripped.

This power steering pump pulley puller works great. It is well made and I believe it would hold up to heavy use. It was easy to use and comes in a nice case. Great value

Yes, it pulled off the old pump and I got the new one on with it also, but now it's pretty bent and I'm afraid to use it again. The metal used is not strong enough for this type of tool, and not supposed to bend that quickly.

This tool aids in the removal of power steering pump pulleys. It works great and is very easy to use. It all comes together in a nice blow mould case for storage. Granted, most vehicles these days don't even have a power steering pump anymore, but it's a great tool to work on older vehicles.
