I bought this speaker for a project I was building, a little practice bass amp for my girlfriend, in the shape of a milk carton for fun. I used a different 4†midrange speaker facing out the front, and this woofer mounted in the bottom facing down, and it puts out a surprisingly strong WOMP for its size! Feels like a great quality speaker, I would definitely buy it again.

I bought two of these to replace subwoofer speakers that blew on my home system. the work great, but the mounting hole are almost too narrow to really get all 4 screws back in.

Wow! 4" woofer! Ummm.. These little things are BEASTS!. They pound like 8" and they just deliver.. The excursion is amazing for their size. I took two older bookshelf speakers and made a Bluetooth speaker jam box with a cheap Amp and wow.. They go deep for the size and really fill up my entire kitchen with sound like full size speakers would... Highly recommend these little crazy incredible hulks! Over the last few days played anything from smooth jazz to Hard Rock to anything you throw at them and the price is so cheap! That's a rare find to have speakers this good for very little money.. Buy them.. You will NOT AT ALL be dissapointed.. Update.. They still are pounding like champs... I ordered two more and will continue to with Bluetooth speaker box projects.. I'm running them off a Bluetooth amplifier board that is rated at 120 watts x 2 but we all know in reality that those little Amp boards are a little hefty on the claim of actual rms power.. However, I get a good clean 60 to I'd say 80 watts per channel and they hang at the rated power.. Just a very well made inexpensive killer small subwoofer.. Don't be afraid because of the low price.. They rock..

WARNING! Installation may be VERY annoying and time consuming.NOTICE: The bolt circle mount pattern of this speaker - THERE IS NO LEEWAY!If you have been using a standard speaker that has short slot mounts realize this speaker has only a direct bolt circle mount and there is a "good" chance it won't match yours, as it did not match mine.I had to first 1. use a wrench to bend the tab corners flat, 2, then drill the small mount holes larger, 3. then use a jig saw with metal cutting blade at it's lowest speed to cut open the holes at the corners - finally using 5mm washers with screws to mount it.So yeah -2 Stars for non-ease of installation. Dayton PLEASE use the standard slotted tabs holes for your speaker mounts. I almost sent it back but decided to MAKE it work anyway.PERFORMANCE: Base is awesome but you will want to "PORT" the speaker's case - if you want to hear any highs at all. (OR you will be adding separate tweeters) It will give awesome lows. This is truly a WOOFER not just a speaker NO BASE PORTS, MEANS NO HIGH FREQUENCIES!

This little guy as is with no enclosure just to see what it does is impressive. Definitely can be paired with a good tweeter in a 2-way configuration since the tones in the mid and treble region is very smooth and undistorted unless pushed a little too hard. Plenty of excursion for an upcoming Bluetooth Ammo Can speaker project I've been working on for a while, may as well use this, a fitting tweeter, ported and tuned to around 43 Hz. I'll probably end up getting more of these little 4" woofers in the future because I have never seen a driver of this size move this much!

Built for a stereo Bluetooth speaker I made . I added a subwoofer crossover. And bought 2 tweeters. With 2 other mid drivers. Add a Bluetooth amp and boom box pleasures to be had. And a good price. Looks the part.
