This kit is fantastic, I just wish this kit came with a proper brush or two which, in my opinion, is essential to a wax kit. I didn't deduct stars, however, becuase these brushed are only around $5 and you can find them anywhere. The iron works great, the wax is solid quality, and the rest of the materials do the job. If you go to the mountain more than a couple times a year, this is a great kit to get you started on saving money and time on taking in your gear to get waxed in a store (which has become stupid expensive and takes way too long). Look up a youtube video on how to wax after you get this kit and you'll be set!

This comprehensive tuning kit is a game-changer for DIY ski and snowboard maintenance. The included USA-made wax performs exceptionally well across various snow conditions, and you get enough to handle multiple tune-ups. The wax's consistency makes it easy to work with, whether you're new to tuning or experienced. The tools are surprisingly good quality for an all-in-one kit. The edge tool maintains consistent angles, the scraper is appropriately rigid without being brittle, and the brush effectively brings out the final finish. The included instructions are clear enough for beginners to follow while covering enough detail to achieve professional-looking results. One particularly thoughtful inclusion is the base cleaner, which properly preps surfaces for waxing - something often overlooked in basic kits. The cork buffer is well-made and helps achieve that final smooth finish that makes such a difference on the slopes. The storage bag keeps everything organized and protected between uses. While more advanced tuners might want to supplement with specialized tools eventually, this kit provides everything needed for quality basic maintenance. The only minor drawback is the plastic scraper could be slightly thicker for better durability. For anyone looking to maintain their own gear, this kit offers excellent value and will quickly pay for itself compared to shop tune-ups.

Overall a great kit to have for last minute wax. Used it last minute before going snowboarding on a warmer spring day and had doubts about how well the wax would do in those conditions but it was great and threw me off guard! When needing speed to hit flat sections at Park City's mountain I was passing everyone in our group and never needed to unstrap once which was great and unexpected. Are there faster waxes, yes but for the price this kit can't really be beat. Highly recommend for the price point.

Pros:This kit was a great deal for the money. We live in Washington and it costs $40 for a wax and sharpening of the blades. So if I do this twice, I am saving money. It was easy with this set and took about 30-45 minutes total to wax and sharpen my blades. (I probably used too much wax and had to scrape off a lot but I wanted to get it super smooth.) This set comes with enough wax to do aprox 4 ski waxings. (I used about 1/4 of what came in the pack to do one pair of skis.) The iron is tiny about 5 inches tall, but that works out great since it is compact and fits into the handy tool case. The cord is somewhat curly and cumbersome since it came in a tight wad, so I had a friend hold the cord while I waxed since it was too short to drape over my shoulder like a power tool cord, but too long so it kept dropping into the hot wax. So I asked a buddy to hold the cord while I did the waxing and it made it much easier. (I know I sound so amateur...but this was my first try so a buddy was helpful.)Cons:1) the sharpening tool is cheap...very cheap. It does not secure the file in place and the file keeps falling out. In short, the file is wobbly and feels very flimsy. Since there is nothing to secure the file in place, I stuffed 4 pennies into the slot alongside the file and they held the files-stone in place no problem. (Then I sharpened with the opposite side of the blade from where I placed the pennies.) It is not great quality, but good enough to do a once over. The file also has too big of a handle underneath the file-stone, so you can't sharpen near the ski stoppers because it crashes into the stopper and gets hung-up. (I am not sure why the handle is so big under the file. Strange design since most skis have a stopper. Maybe for my next purchase I will get a better quality sharpening tool since the sharpener only gets a 1 star in my opinion. See below for pennies.2) Since the iron is so small, the only place they had to put the dial is under the handle so you can't read it. Luckily I guessed the "med" temp the first time out, so I will just leave the temp there always so I know I have the right temp. But the iron worked great, so not a big issue if I can't adjust the temp.Other than those two issues, I think the kit is great for the weekend skier who only has to wax/sharpen skis a few times a season.Note to the beginner (meaning me): I laid down a ton of newspaper on the floor, but once I started scraping the skis wax flew everywhere. Then as I accidentally stepped onto the shavings they stuck on the floor where i didn't have newspaper. So then I had to scrape my floor. Be sure to do this in the garage or outside...I might be scraping wax off my kitchen floor for a week.

I bought this kit for my 13 year old son to wax his own board and save me some money. It’s also taught him a skill which has turned into a little side gig for him, he now waxes all his buddies boards. It paid for itself in 3 wax jobs. The iron is nice and the scrapers work great. You might as well order some additional wax too, you’ll need it. Good kit.

I wanted to like this kit, it had all the basic needs at a great price. Frustratingly, when I went to to a hot wax clean, I started circles on the base and the iron immediately scratched my board. Not sure where, but I think the holes at the top had rough edges from poor quality. Considered yourself warned or face a nice test of stoic philosophy. Will be returning and building out a kit with an iron of higher quality

A very simple set of tools to keep the skies waxed over the summer. Good instructions although no instructions on using the ski edger but then again I probably don't want to touch them anyway. I use the kit for waxing.
